The 245s aren't going to help much because the smaller, lighter cars can step up and run a 245 as well, but in STU we can't go up. The AYC is beautiful on sweeping corners like what you would find on a road course, and it worked well for me in the 1st auto x I went to because there were 2 large sweepers, but at this track I should have turned it off. I think that may have contributed to some of my tail slapping under power.

Don't let the weight hold you back. I think it is a more capable car in most places. It is going to depend on the class. Classes where they can get some weight out, it will do extremely well. It is wide, can take a big tire, and will make great power with the new engine. STU might be tough against the lighter cars. Acceleration won't be a problem, but having the extra weight on the same amount of rubber could.

I'll try to take some in car video this weekend if I can get a good camera mount here by then. I'll put it in the VIII, then in the X for a comparo....not that you will really be able to see anything

when you say the ASC was off, was it all the way off, or halfway? if it was all the way off, i wonder if it would have been faster with it only halfway off, letting the car grab calipers as necessary to keep the tail at the perfect slip angle...

Not all the way off. It was tail happy in the middle setting. I didn't try with everything off.

So how is the oversteer. On my STi with DCCD rolled back I could get a little bit of *** out in the rain on the right corners but it still really loves to understeer like all Subarus do. When looking at the mitsubish awd system it seems like just because where all the weight is situated that it would understeer worse. What is the torque split like? It's non-adjustable like a WRX right?

It most definately oversteers. Turn the wheel and the nose dives and around comes the back. Just before it goes too far, it catches itself. Amazing really.

There are 3 preset settings for the center diff. You can choose between the 3, but it doesn't have all the manual user settings like the STI. Everyone tells me they don't use those anyway...they use the auto settings.

I'm thinking of taking my Aero kit off. It bums me out, but I don't think it is ideal for auto x. That sucker is a cone catcher and slowed me down because I was trying like hell not to get the front lip close to cones. I managed to keep it out of trouble, but I did catch a cone right behind the front wheel and busted the damn side skirt. It is cracked and moved back. Hey...its only $700 to replace

This will be a narrower car and a better auto x car without the aero kit. I think I'm taking mine off
