Engine Break-In

Ok I am aware of the noob alert I am giving off. I just picked up the Evo X yesterday....upgrade from SRT-4. Freaking love it. I've taken it on two spirited rides....nothing crazy just brisk acceleration. What is everybody's feeling on breaking the engine in as prescribed in the owner's manual? I am realizing the stupidity of my question so let me rephrase. Who has "cheated" before fully breaking the engine in.

I've chilled out since my couple of rides.

btw I am not some ricey little tyke.

you have to break in the turbo. dont go full throttle until you pass 1200 miles because it might mess it up.

The most important thing to any engine (new or old) - running temps

people can sit here and argue over break in all day long.

But from my experience take it to redline a few times within the first 20 miles.

dont beat the **** out of it, but dont baby it.

the rings need to seat.

let me tell you what an upgrade this car is from an SRT-4. i am going to have a lot of fun with this thing.....just got to learn to drive now---

manual says:

no revs exceeding 5000rpms for the first 600 miles.
no fast starts, prolonged high speeds and rough shifting for 300 miles.
no sudden braking for 300 miles.
extra care with tires for 200 miles.
don't overload and no towing (damn just got the hitch put on for the RV)
