Why is he so headfast on the MR if he wants to mod it? the GSR is a much better platform to mod off of. If your gonna upgrade suspension, get new rims, and then go for max power then the MR is almost pointless.

Given MR gets you leather seats and improved sound deadening. But you can get leather for the GSR, and you can get the car sound proofed with dynamat if you really care that much about noise. You can also install the factory bluetooth and steering wheel controls.

Point is, if your gonna upgrade suspension why pay for the upgraded suspension on the MR. If your going for max power, then you clearly are wanting a drag car and not a track car, so why get the tc-sst? If your going to buy the car and leave it mostly stock, then get the MR.

Go with the GS-R. Replacing a clutch is better than replacing a tranny.

i really dont understand, im with you guys on this, but maybe he is thinking the car will handle better because of the suspension and differentials. He also has to understand that either the gsr or the mr wont be highway monters like the ones he has had, ive seen him race from 100mph rolls lol

what differentials? gsr and mr have the same drivetrain. Only difference in suspension is the eibach springs and bilstein dampers. Get a good set of coilovers with the 5k you save and the gsr will outhandle the mr.

Carlos, nobody knows the extent the MR can be modded to just yet. Time will tell. AMS is doing some tests on mods to the MR and from what CharlesJ posted it seemed like even Mitsubishi was surprised the tranny was holding up like it was with that level of mods. If your brother's deadset on one, I'd tell him to wait and see what the players do with them when they're released.

ok so if mitsubishi was suprised that means even the makers of this car are doubting its tranny. hmm thats to sketchy i will try my best to convince on getting the gsr besides the diferences between them arent much apart from the tranny. Its a lot of money for it and we dont even have gps mapping for the streets in pr for buying it with the premise of having the navi system.

Whatever he gets, make sure it is red. That way he will be nice and easy for the po to see when he races on the highway starting at 100mph

my car is red and if your going at that speed either way police will notice. Evasive maneuvers is the only thing that can save you at that moment . Anyways po arent the same in pr than here in the states I wish i had my car over there.

dont know about what sheptrans can do...last I heard the XMR transmission is non rebuildable...if you messed up one..you bassically have to buy a complete unit...10k if I am not mistaken..

why would they be non rebuildable, do they just tear everything apart when they break?

I think there only non rebuildable from mitsu, not sure if shep could do something but im sure with the complexity of that tranny it would cost a ****ing fortune.
