Ok...time to change the Oil for the first time...now...I'm so used to using 10W-30, I don't feel comfortable using the 5W-30 that's designated with the engine...just curious what everyone else has been doing.

Ah and do you have to take off the front diffuser to change the oil?? that sucks ifyou do

5W-30 is what the car requires and works for turbo engines. where did you get used to using 10W-30?

Probably because it was the recommended oil for the 8s and 9s....

I changed out my oil to RedLine 5w30 at 1500 miles. I believe the factory oil was a lighter break in oil because the smoking under hard acceleration has now largely dissipated.

There is an access pannel in the under tray to get to the drain plug and filter.

Mobile one fully synthetic 5w-30. Just like the car manufacturer recommends. Says so right under the hood too.

Anyone have opinions about Castrol full synthetic as a replacement, will it void the warranty?

I don't like Castrol oil. I use Royal Purple in all my cars and have never had problems. Mitsubishi may dictate what weight oil you use in your car but they can not force you to use a specific manufacturer's oil, so any manufacturer is OK as long as you stick to the correct weight.

Climate here is hot! I'm looking at doing my first oil change, and going to Mobil 15w-50.
