EVO MR pricing
New guy here Just ordered a MR list in Canada is 47,498 and our dollar is nearly on par with the US$. But we do get a car that is 1.9 inches longer
(bumper rules). In Canada there are three models the GSR, MR and the MR Premium. What we get for our extra money ?? is normal stuff GSR vs. MR leather heated seats, Fast Key and HID headlights. If I wanted the Nav system etc it is 52,498
Now the wait begins the dealer says sometime in late May early June but Mitsu HQ says at the earliest late July or August
well as related to the title, no need to start going off on tangents, simple truth is that the pricing is in line what everyone expected, period.
whether the car will sell or its worth the price or which car it should be compared to or who will spank who, start another thread

Maybe not a M3 but a 135I or a 335I. With just a PROCede slapped on the BMW you will make way more torque and power and have a nice 6 speed manual. The MR EVO is still just a Lancer with some go-fast stuff added, you can even get that same fancy gearbox in a Lancer. The 3 liter twin turbo in the BMW with a PROCede will spank any modded EVO unless the driver of the EVO is really good and willing to sacrifice the clutch(es).
All these posts make it pretty clear why the '09 Ralliart was added. It'll be interesting to see what RA sales are like and whether people will be willing to pay "market pricing" markups on them.
True I bent it a little, I have 2 friends that have 08 M3's
One is a base unit and he got them down to 49.9K+TTL
Second one is a Denan 79K
BMW in Dallas admits not moving the M series very well right now!

The 135i costs about the same ($39k ish) and performs extremely well, but its small and the 335i would still cost more ($45k ish) then an MR with comparable options.
If you throw in a $1200 procede tune, then you have to give the MR the same thing to make that comparison fair.
I'm glad these choices are available though I just don't see myself spending $40k on an Evo. I paid $32k for my TL w/Navi and I keep catching myself comparing these cars even though I shouldn't.

I wouldn't call those luxury cars, more like nicely equipped mid sized sedans. If you were talking about a merc e550 or bmw 5 series, then I would agree.
That would be like comparing a Bentley and a Ferrari, I mean the Ferrari costs the same as the Bentley, so it should have the same luxury features right?
The evo MR is just designed to be a fast 4 door sedan, that you can take to a track or back road; not to be a comfy boring luxury sedan you that your grandmother would enjoy driving to church.
Well dealer markups are made for the idiots who are willing to pay them; and if you are sensible, you would shop around for a dealer that gives discounts instead. i.e. South Coast Mitsubishi.
Also, there should be plenty of MRs to be found like the evo 8 and 9s; don't believe the dealer BS that they are extremely rare and deserve 5k markups or worse.

The evo is not the same as the Lancer at all, they may be on the same frame and look the same, but thats where the similarities end. The lancer is a FWD limp noodle with crappy suspension, brakes, and handling which couldn't take a turn any better than a Toyota Carola. And it does not have the same transmission. Just because it has paddles does not mean its the same. The Lancer either comes with a Manual Transmission, or a CVT (the one with the paddles) do some research and you will see that a CVT is nothing like the tranny in the MR.
Some yes, the Lancer isn't one of them. For example the Cobolt SS is a great FWD car. Which is rather close to an evo. As for an Acura, no I haven't but as car as I'm concerned its a POS compared to an Evo
Thats close to GTR pricing w/o the insane markup. Damn german manufacturers need to stop price gouging us on options.
