Is this a good price for an X?
Trade in value is notoriously hard to nail down, it's probably where the delear see their value in the deal, they give you 17.5k and sell it for 21K so they don't mind a couple hundred less than Invoice for the Evo. If you finance through them they also make money on the financing, they get a kickback from the bank. You must still figure in the sales tax and title and license. Insurance is way high for an Evo, you can get a quote online to make sure you can afford the total payment and still have money for food.
oh hey thats a good idea, i mean i live in pittsburgh, so SoCal is not that far away from me -lol- although im not opposed to getting it shipped if they get me a better deal than my dealership.
trade in value is given off of a black book (whole sale value) not nada or kbb. trade in value is completely at the dealers discretion especially when the value of a unit hasn't posted yet. nada and kbb can easily 2-3k higher that what you will get offered at a dealership. keep in mind these are estimated values and averages they come up with. they are not exact.

Hey man, sorry I didn't post back in this thread. I'm also going to be purchasing a X. I'm trading my VIII. I went to Biondi and went right up to the sales guy and asked him if he wanted to make a deal. He said they weren't dealing on the X. "There's only 2,000 X's in the United States." I laughed and told him to give me a call if he changed his mind.
Right after that, I went to Baierl. It's in Wexford. They have 8 X's sitting on the lot and I dealt with an older guy. He was cool, gave me excellent book value on my car, and knocked the X as close to invoice as I could. Definately cruise up there and tell them Brian, the guy with the Silver VIII - future X, sent you. I'm picking mine up tomorrow. PM me if you have any other questions.
Also, the service tech at Baierl is the best in the state, and probably one of the best in the country. He'll work with you, not against you.

I also got the same interest rate - 5.9 for 60 months and 6.9 for 72. I don't have time to shop around at banks and credit unions, so I'm doing the 72 and try to pay it off in 60.
yeah, biondi sucks big time, they only care about stealing money, and dont care about the customer, ive come to realize. but i know south park mitsubishi is supposed to be really good as well.
as for what biondi offered me, they gave me the same 5.9% even at 72 months, supposedly, but what did your payment end up being when you worked out a deal at baierl?
EDIT: i forgot to mention, biondi has had the same 2 X's sitting in their showroom for the last 2-3 months, because they are trying to rape everyone. southpark is on their 6 truck load of X's from what my coworker who lives by them has told me. he bought his lancer from there, and got a way better deal from them while his trade had negative equity on it! they are good to go with too, i might end up going there, or try baierl.

When a car sales person has someone "on the hook" who's dealing in the abstract of monthly payments, they know they have a good chance to make the most money possible.
It's NEVER in your best interest to haggle with a dealer over monthly payments. Use a loan calculator and figure this on your own. Deal ONLY in purchase price (include only tax and any dealer fees).
I suggest doing three things:
1) KBB private party sale (don't accept less for your trade in, or sell yourself... with 4k miles, you should be able to sell for close to PP)
2) Look at invoice for the model and options of the exact vehicle you're interested (edmunds). Don't pay more than invoice, preferable look for a dealer (like South Coast Subaru) who will sell for under invoice.
3) Acquire your own loan, shop around, look for the best interest rate you can (start with your bank/credit union). Even if you go with the dealer offered financing, you have both potential to garner a better interest rate from the dealer and/or better purchase price ("I'll go with you're financing, but the purchase price has to be lower", etc). [/QUOTE]
Best of luck!!

Do you know what your credit score is? I checked my credit union on this very car. I pinged at 775 on my credit rateing. They offered me 3 differant interest rates based on how long I wanted the loan for. I got 5.25 as the lowest I think at 72 months. I had her do it with the car costing 42k and it came out 5 something a month. I can get you exact offers if your interested. I just don't have them handy rite now. Also do you have money in the bank? I was also offred 3 even lower rates if I had 5k in the bank in saveings.
I wouldn't settle for anything, your getting a $35-$40k bran new car! I'm getting the MR because I'm not going to settle for something that is 98% of what I want when I'm spending so much money.
you are my hero, now please tell me how and whom you got down to 28K for the base gsr with invoice of 31093+destination? i pushed for 3 weeks and only got down to 30.5K
they are desparate to make deals....the sticker was saying 33680 for mine. i got them down to 28k. you can go to angles if you don't want to talk about getting the total price of the car down....tell them you're looking for a payment you can live with and you don't want to pay for more than 60 months. see what they give you. they will make your deal for you...just push on.
don't go over 60 months 72 will take too long to build equity in case you want to get rid of it in a couple of years. new cars come out all the time. and sure she's shiny and new now but not in 3 years.

Anyhow, my deal ended up being good at Baierl. I financed like $24,000 at 6.75% and my payments are 440 for 72 mo's. I'm probably going to pay it off in 60. If you do go up there, I get a referral bonus if you go see a guy named Gil. Older guy, but he was easy to deal with. Tell them I sent you.
You're exactly right. My VIII sat in Biondi's showroom for almost a year until I finally had enough saved to buy it. By then, the 05's were already out and they gave me a super deal because they just wanted it gone. It was an 04 model in 05. That tells you something.

I just traded, 0$ down - They gave me over $20,000 for my 04 VIII, which is above KBB excellent trade in value. I couldn't really complain considering the car was involved in a major accident - 82 year old woman smashed me. I still owed about $7000 on the VIII, so I basically had $13,XXX down.
