might switch to evo...

hi guys, ive been a roamer for a awhile, i currently own a 06 sti... and i might want to switch over to the dark side... haha jk. but im seriously considering selling the sti and get a X. what are you guys overall opinions on the x?

i like the sti and i like the new hatches, but i want to get away from the subaru's and try out the mitsu.

i dotn feel like dumping 6 grand into a sti and make 400 hp when i can dump probably half of that into a evo and get the same output. help me out here.

evo evo EVO! you wont believe how it handles coming from an sti... the only thing you will probly miss is the straight line speed...but then take a corner at 80mph and you forget about it all.

yeah the 2.5 in the sti is torquey but the 1020920:1 ratio rack in the sti is kinda annoying. i dunno, i want to get into an evo but ive always been kinda worried bout buying used cars so ill probably end up either keeping my car or going with a X. has the clutch issues been taken care of? ive seen some posts about people still having them.. and some that no longer have them?

you don't really need to ask for opinions...in just about every thread you can easily tell...and eh this is the Evo X forum for the Evo enthusiast site...you're definitely going to get a thumbs up..

My opinion:

go evo

You have a very good looking car there!

Imo the x has game to back up its great looks and its full potential hasn't been unlocked yet.

As a first time owner of a high performance (all-wheel drive) turbo car my impressions about driving this car have been all positive.

uhhhh trust me on this.. i wouldnt use race gas, only 93. i wouldnt use cams cuz that would be pointless unless i was shooting for a 9k reving engine and or was shooting for 500 hp. otherwise if i did tear into the engine, id throw on pistons. but thats more money i wouldnt spend.

other wise you dont just slap a turbo and meth on a otherwise stock sti man. you obviously dont know the vehicle. you need all that i listed above, you can use the stock headers but aftermarket ones would be better. no way around it, go search on nasioc or iwsti, you will see what i mean.

i friend of mine on iwsti.com just make 450/450, he has everything i listed above and thats about like 6k worth of goods on the stock block. trust me on this man.

a guy locally who owns a evo 9 has just all the mods other then a turbo, and he got 380 to the wheels. there would be no WAY i could do that with a sti on the stock turbo.
