PISSED! Stupid Dealer/Mitsubishi
PISSED! Stupid Dealer/Mitsubishi
So I was detailing my car the other day and noticed these squigly zig zag marks on the back of my recaros and on the back seat. Keep in mind no one ever sits in the back of my car. So I looked at it a bit more and it appears as if a sharp object keyed my fabric. Anyways to make a long story short I called the dealer and informed them of this. They told me that this happened to another one of their cars which has since then been fixed. They claim at first it was the detailing guy with a sharp vaccum cleaner now later its mitsubishi's fault with shooting the seat with the air hose? Either way it sounds like crap to me. Anyways on mine on the other hand they are insisting it is Mistubishi's fault and refuse to replace the seat until Mitsubishi gets back to them. I am pissed on three factors.
1. Its a brand new car I shouldn't have to put up with this $hit on a new car or have to wait on them
2. I am the customer why I am waiting for them to dispute with Mitsubishi on who's fault it is? It's not my problem they should take care of me and get re-embursed my Mitsubishi
3. They have no ETA date for me as to when this will be fixed. Which is a load of crap especially aftering buying a new 35k vehicle
Is is just me or do I have the right to be pissed? Any advice or comments? So pissed right now!

As a consumer, you have every right to be upset with both how you've been treated and how the company is handling the situation. But as a Mitsubishi owner, you should lower your expectations in terms of customer satisfaction from dealerships. I'm not sure about your specific area, but you can pay a visit to other dealerships and see what they will say about the situation, or call Mitsubishi NA and see if there is any progress. Best of luck...

IMO, call Mitsubishi corporate and explain what happened and that the dealer frakked up your car. It sounds like their detailing guy on the lot screwed your seats up, they already admitted he had a "sharp vacuum". The dealer should pay for it. Maybe Mitsu can help make that happen.
I have to say that the Mitsubishi dealership that i bought my EVO from is great. I had a couple of issues and they have bent over backward to fix everything. I am about to move but will be willing to drive an hour or two to bring them buisness on the tought stuff.

This is a common delay tactic. they are not really talking to corporate about anything. what in the world would they be talking to them for if their detailer messed up your seat? the reason they do this is because a large percentage of the time people give up on having things fixed and they lose nothing. trying to get a dealer to pay anything out of pocket is harder than squeezing water out of a rock. the only way to get this resolved is to go in the showroom and get loud in front of their prospective customers and act like a total ***. sorry but at dealerships nice guys always finish last. good luck. also when you are getting loud make sure you press that it was their screw up and so-and-so told you that. just keep saying that because they'll change their story a million times. good luck.
EDIT: also try finding more on the lot whith the same problem. if it was a factory effect they would have noted it in the pre-delivery inspection.

Evo Pre-delivery inspection: Est. Time - 1 hour
Check tire pressures
Set clock
Get gas slip from service writer or cashier
Drive the car to gas station- note handling characteristics relative to IX
Fill with gas
Drive the car back to the dealership - note lap time
Completed time - 23m:07s
Goal for next EvoX PDI - Break into the 22's
