So I know with the subie Sti's people put resistors in the harness plugs to avoid teh airbag light. Does anyone know how to eliminate the light for the evo X? I can start tinkering around with it, but I dont want to pop a bag out of the seat. I'm hoping someone else has the answer already. I know that an airbag light will stay on until its cleared by the dealer in the X, so if u have it on you cant just simply put the stock seats back in and move on. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate it

Take out the harness on the hazzard button. The sensors on the seats will be disabled.

But you will have an Airbag Seat Error on the dash.

But it will definitely disable the seat airbag sensors.

yea but if the stock seats are out, I dont care if the sensors are deactivated or not because in the instance of an accident, there is no bag to deploy anyway. I need to know how to avoid the light from coming on

Duplicate the setup used on the Subies. The schematics for the airbags on a Subie can't be much different from ours...

I didn't do on an Evo but i tried removing the air bag light in another car and when i pulled the bulb i thought i had it made, but the next time i started the car there was no light only a annoying warning buzzer going off.It would start with fifteen chimes in a row then stop and every half hour the cycle would start again.I would check into this on your evo before pulling the bulb.

pulling the bulb is not what i'm lookin to do. I'm not looking to not see the light, i'm looking to not have the code. OBD2 cars cannot be inspected in NY with a CEL on

i wouldnt pull a bulb out

cause wht if somethin actually ****s up with ur airbags rofl

i mean with the new lancers that stupid screen shows up with the maintance required thing even with the bulb out

that thing gets annoying

im sure some1 will come out with a resistor for the car

it just takes time

i mean iv been drivin in my 08 with the light on forawhile now

im gunna b patient for some1 2 come out with a bypass for it, and im sure the evo x bypass will work for a regular 08..... or at least im hoping so

The best option is NOT to take out the sensor harness on the dash. Thats just a lazy fix.

The only REAL way to fix the issue is to attach a resistor to the plug underneath the seat (it should be the same plug that attaches to the seat belt). Basically, by doing this it loops the signal fooling the ECU into thinking the airbags are still there.

Problem solved
