i cannot recieve a warranty?!?!

I just got a phone call from some place in Nevada... im not sure who or what it really was... it was actualy an automated message telling me that my vehicle may not be fully covered under warranty...and to speak to a representative press 1. Thats exactly what it said...

So I press 1 and soon after im talking to some lady...I tell her that I just got this phone call and im not really sure what is going on right now. she asks me the make, model, year, who's name the car is under, mileage and vin. so I give her the the make, model and the owner's name and she tells me that the car is currently not under full warranty... the only thing on my car that is covered is my powertrain and alternator she then asks me if I received any notices regarding my warranty ( yes i have, it was a letter stating that my the insurance covered by the dealer has expired and the car must be covered under insurance' it is covered by the way) Then she asks me for the actual mileage and vin of the car...but as soon as I gave her the actual mileage on my car she says "Im sorry sir I cannot give you a warranty for your car, im so sorry" so at this point im like WTF?! and before i can ask why not.... the phone is disconnected, like she hung up or something (im sure she would not do that but thats what it sounded like)...

anyway I try calling the number back...but it does not work there is a message that pops up saying " we are sorry if we reached your number in error, we only purchase and call business listings if you would like to have your number taken off our calling list, press 1"

so at this point...you guys know as much as I do right now... is there a number I can call to check my warranty or something? maybe mitsu of America?

It sounds like an independent company trying to sell you a warranty. You've Evo is covered by Mitsu until you mod it ... or drive it.

I don't have an evo, but I get about 3 calls a day on my cell phone and my house phone. "You may not be covered, ect...."

Best I could figure out, the place I got my wife's mini-van from, sold us out. It was a ford dealer, and ever since they closed down I've been getting these calls.

If you press 2 to have your numnber removed, it hangs up on you. If you press 1 to talk with a rep., you will get someone who sounds liek they just got out of bed, and they will be rude. I just try to waste their time now, it's pretty fun.

this is a B.S. message that gets sent out from a company that purchases new and used car owner lists to approach customer who do not take advantage of the dealer offering an extended warranty at the time of purchasing the car. Plan on receiving this message every 3-6 months for as long as you own the car or 100,000 miles or which ever comes first. P.S. they also charge alot for this coverage. there are 3 big companies out there and 2 of them (that i know of) run radio adds.

to the OP,
It's an independent company, stop spazzing, it's not Mitsu related. . .they get these large databases with customer info on who recently purchased what, and that's how they make their money, off of poor saps like you. . .just mod and drive like the rest of us. . .

They don't even know what kind of car you have, or when or if the warranty is expiring.

Got that same call and even a card in the mail shortly after buying my IX. Probably the same company. When I started to ask questions on why the hell would I need thier warranty, the guy hung up . Possible scam.

Yeah. Thats a lame attempt to sell you a warranty. Just ignore them. Or if you think its a straight-up scam. Call up and pretend to be a Police Officer. Thats always fun.
