Heck... let them sit. And with the increasing fuel costs, they're all going to sit there a lot longer unless the dealers come down on costs. Maybe i can afford one then

+1. I get a little happier every time I drive by and see them still sitting there....By the end of the summer I'll be seriously considering one.

Oh i got that from reading many many reviews and opinions of the new engine Vs the old one.. It has been accepted that the new engine will not handle as much HP as the old one.. and stop for stock its only 5 hp more... takes longer to get to high speed but maintains that speed better around corners... The biggest improvement is in build and handling..

yeh many 100,000 PLUS earners like you may add an EVO to their car collection, very few will make EVO their only car, but most 60,000 earners (with no car collection) would stick to an expensive BMW merc etc...

I'm really quite interested to see what, if any, gains it makes when the MR rolls out. if people are having a hard time justifying it now I don't see them feeling more apt to get an MR really. That is, of course, for the non-niche crowd.

That's a good point. It seems like a good amount of guys are waiting on the MR. So, that could provide a little bump in sales once it finally gets here.

I doubt anyone with responsibilities (family, house, etc) on an average salary is looking for a toy or a high cost daily driver in the given economy. I suspect very few of the people that you described are buying a Mercedes or BMW.

The sales issues with the EvoX right now is mostly economy and fuel cost based, and a small mount is based on perception. Look at new cars sales in general, everything is down. Except for Smart cars and those stupid three wheeled scooters I keep seeing everywhere. I've seen more "Smart" cars on the road than I have seen EvoX's. Heck, I've seen more Smart cars than EvoX's and 135i's and new performance cars in general combined.

Public perception is turning way from Hummers and Escalades and now the people who need the flashy status oriented vehicle are buying Smart cars and three wheeled scooters. LOL.

Hey man, if you put a hayabusa motor in a smartcar it'll make our X's look like a 3 wheeled scooter. I've seen it.

Maybe if they allocated demos theynwould sell cars. I went in to Delrat Mitsu yesterday and they refused to let me test drive. I laughed in their face b/c I can name almost every fast as hell competitor that would throw me the keys without hesitation for a test drive. Thats how I was sucked in to buying my 1st evo(best decision ever), after the test drive.

i think mitsu will sell more lancer Rallys then evo's when they come out.. I think a lot of people get nevious when price starts heading into the 30x++ 24-26k is a lil more justifiable to people.. guess we'll have to wait and see.. also I think that the MR sells are going to be horrible.. not that its a bad car.. just cause of the price..
