Take over the loan, then flip the car on autotrader/ebay, take that 11k profit and either invest it or blow it on mods for the X.

The 550i is a great car but you'll get bored of it IMO

 

What everyone else is saying, sounds like thats your best bet.

 

That is what I was thinking get the 550I sit on it for a couple of months then turn around and sell it for a profit. Hey his loss is my gain. It is not my fault he got in over his head with payments.

 

yea sounds like a right choice, I drove a 535 and it was pretty good for that heavy of a car

 

I would personally go with the 135i, but you ruled that out...

If the car is mainly for weekend use, then the X would be a much more enjoyable weekend ride than a luxo-mobile.

If the guy really is your friend, tell him that you'll buy it from him for what he owes, then sell it and split the overall profit with him. you help out a friend and make a couple bucks for each of you while protecting yourself.

 

Also, I would much rather have the tuneability that comes with the Evo X.
