making choices

May last year I totalled my Evo 9 trying to miss a deer, almost to the day one year later my Suby caught on fire. Now I have no car and I have 2 choices. Car is really only for weekend use. Evo 10, or a slightly used 2007 BMW 550I fully loaded. I am having mixed emotions and opinions for both cars. One part of me wants the raw performance that the Evo privdes and another part of me wants the luxury that BMW provides. I keep going back and forth for the past 3 weeks. Just want to know some opinions of the board members. I know they are 2 totally different cars so it might be hard to come down to a for sure choice.

Looked and drove both a 135I and 335I both nice cars, but for sure the 135I is way to small. I just can not beat the price on the 550I only 24xxx miles and my friend really need to get out of the loan, he owes 33xxx. He said I could just take over the loan, kkb for the 550I is something like 44xxx.

How'd the Suby catch fire?

Fire inves. has no idea on the cause of the fire, but by the time fire fighter got to the scene the car was buring so bad that they could not put it out so they just let it burn to the ground.

The first thing that comes to mind is that if your buddies bmw is worth more than his loan balance, just sell it. Be a dick and buy it and flip it for $4k yourself.

Is anybody buying anything over 2.4 liters right now?

Evo X for sure. IMO Beamers are to make yourself feel important and trying to impress others. When you start it up in the mornings or take it out on a nice sunny day, which will put a bigger smile on your face?

No kidding. That practically makes the decision for him. Get the BMW and drive it around for awhile. If you don't like it, sell it for a profit and get the X.

Evo X Beamers are nice cars but are ask yourself this question: Do I wanna have a smile on my face everytime I drive my car or do I wanna impress my boss?

You don't want to impress your boss, especially if the car you like is better than his. The only think that will accomplish is making him realize that you are making too much money. If you are lucky, you have a boss who is willing to spend coin on a nice ride, but the other 90 percent of them will hold you back on a sub-concious level.

Get the 550 for sure. 33k is a steal for that car. If you don't like it you can easily sell it for more than you bought it for and buy an Evo X. There are tons of them sitting on dealer lots.
