why is it crazy? lower payment and i get a new one (or whatever I want) in a couple of years). there is a thread about this. the only crazy thing about it is the person who buys my X when i am done with it.

most, if not all evos usually need an alignment from the factory.

^ I dont think anyone was arguing that...but thanks!
As for dealers lying...well....they are car salesmen...so. Yeah, they lie. But something like this (especially if its a lease customer) they would take care of you. In 2 years, you'll be back for another brand new car, under warranty, with all the technology that has come out! (they sometimes use that as a pitch to lease rather then buy....in the end-no one owns the car unless you paid cash...the bank can take it at day 1 if they are a-holes.....)

This is what I found out the hard way. I bought a new Honda in 99 that had been crashed on a test drive. A year later when I was putting a built engine in the car I found damage and junkyard part numbers. The dealer denied it, but I ended up finding out what really happened.

I tried to fight them to the best of my financial ability and I got the shaft. Apparently they can do that. If that happened to me now on a car like the EVO, I would burn the building down.

I agree, and I must say, dexmix, you need to open your mind up a bit!

If leasing were available at the time of my purchase, I would have taken advantage of it, as I have no plans to mod, and I have intentions of keeping no car longer than 1-2 years.

Yes, good for some, bad for others, but still no reason to be generally calling leasing "crazy."

Damn, that's friggin weak sauce. It's awesome how the little guy gets boned huh??

My buddy bought a G6 from the local dealership. They told him that the car had not been in an accident when he purchased it. When he brought it home, you could clearly tell that the front bumper was a completely different shade of red and there were cracks all throughout it. We found a few other pieces that were damaged and repaired by what looked like a 6 year old.

I know it was my friends fault for not thoroughly checking over the car, but they shouldn't have sold it as it was. He ended up losing a bunch of money when he traded that car in.

Someone wrecked an Evo 8 around here on a test drive. Not sure what happened in that situation, but I know they are really picky from now on when it comes to test drives.

I know the gap between my hood and the front clip is not as straight as I'd like it to be, seems a bit funny. I know the car hasn't been hit. I do know that cars get damaged before the dealer gets them from time to time, but normally it is disclosed to the dealer before hand and they will be given the opportunity to refuse the vehicle and it should end up at the auction. Same thing if it was hail damaged before they get the car, there are disclosures for that as well, so normally if it happens before the dealer gets the car and it is fixed there are disclosures that will be with the car right up front.

I know we had some Outlanders hit when there was plowing at the delivery yard and damaged two, one was refused and one was accepted.

I'll bet nobody will admit to it, but I would guess something happened after it was delivered to the dealer. Mitsubishi will know if it was hit before the dealer got the car for sure, that is if it was hit at all.

I had the wheel off my EVO and the spline is not keyed, so if the wheel was off it may have not been put back on correctly. I've also seen on rare occasions steering wheels off center right from the factory.

Good luck.

A while back they had a show on TV of cars that were shipped on ships from overseas, it is a common fact that they get banged up and repaired.
