Honestly, I'm not going to say if the EVO X is an upgrade or not...it all depends on what you want to get out of the car. However, I'll dissagree with you on the parts being more expensive on the Audi.

Your Audi isn't a NEW platform (as its been out in Europe for years) so the aftermarket is already full of all sorts of upgrades whereas the Evo X is a brand spanking new car on the world market so the aftermarket parts will be in high demand but low availabiltiy b/c most companies [that already make parts for the VIII/IX] will be in the R&D stage. Which also means those initial costs will most likely be passed down to the first batch of consumers.

I'm sure after some time the cost for parts on the EVO will drop and WILL be cheaper then your Audi but even that is purely speculatory as a lot of the high end stuff will come from Japan just as a lot of the high end Euro stuff for your Audi (or the rest of VAG for that matter) comes from Germany.

Anyways, those are my two cents.

The B7 A4 is a new platform with the 2.0t, not the infamous 1.8t. So if you search around for performance parts under the B7 platform there is little to be found other than a 4k turbo kit which barley boosts you up to the 300hp range. In the euro scene i know for sure they're not gonna make much parts due to the new B8 coming out and so forth.

Ive had my stock DV go out, replaced it with the Forge unit. Oil pressured out of my oil cap. PCV went bad. Replaced it. I had alot of headaches with the car plus i wasnt too happy to get $175 oil changes every other month.
I know i will be very happy with the X but i will miss the Audi. They are both 2 different cars in every way. The X is all race as for the Audi you can pull up to the club or valet in style.

I do love my Audi but parts for it are just too expensive. I was wondering if the EVO's SST is similar to the Audi/Porsche DSG?
This is my current ride for now. I'm planning on "Murdering" out the EVO also.
dont sell that audi... it is bad ***

I hear ya brother...I've had some electrical issues with my 1.8T, I've had the PVC go as well, so I know where you're coming from. I just don't know if it will be any cheaper to mod is all. I'm sure it will probably be cheaper (over all to run) and certainly more fun...the evo is just tuned better.

As a funny side note...one of the electrical problems I was having was the German made OEM coil packs from Bremi...the engine idled like crap and always felt like it was just a couple hundred RPM's away from stalling. I replace them with the Japanese made Hitachi units and the car runs better then new! lol

Go figure.

can we get some more pictures of that A4, I want to see that exhaust, it looks like a pretty serious exhaust. I think the X would be a great replacement to the A4 but remember the evo is not as "nice" on the inside and is not as "formal" as the A4. Just my 2 cents from having both a b7 audi and an evo X

you totally missed what he was saying.

Audi's are great cars (RS4 n S5 parents cars) family has always bought audi's. The aftermarket area is just too expensive for them though and maintence cost a lot. That's pretty much the only downsides I think of to them. The X will be a step up in the performance area thats for sure, but of course fit and finish is better in the audi. Theres just some things you give up. You'll be happy with an Evo.

I have a B7, almost the same as yours.. black with titanium package. I love it, I decided to go with the audi care, only cost me $10 a month and its free maintenance. Audi has much better build quality, completely different car then the Evo
