Gonna be a proud father...
o btw I end up buying a MR, didnt just run around test driving like a crazy person lol.
The B7 A4 is a new platform with the 2.0t, not the infamous 1.8t. So if you search around for performance parts under the B7 platform there is little to be found other than a 4k turbo kit which barley boosts you up to the 300hp range. In the euro scene i know for sure they're not gonna make much parts due to the new B8 coming out and so forth.
The X is a big step down in build quality but a hell of a lot more fun to drive hard. It is also cheaper in the long run to replace parts on compared to your A4. It is also easier to work on than your A4. So for those reasons i can agree with you on going with a X. I will be picking up a X in the next week or two for those reasons as well. But i will be keeping my S4 for while longer as well. When you sit in the X, you will notice a big difference in what i am talking about in build quality though.
Have a good.
The B7 is not a "new platform". The chassis is exactly the same as the B6. The only difference between the B6 and B7's is the engine line up and body styling. The 2.0 TFSI has alot more options than just a turbo kit.Close to 300hp from the 2.0 can be had with just a good chip tune and stock turbo. I think you have just been going to the wrong places to have your Audi moded or having idiots wrench on it. I hope you didn't fall for the GIAC crap that everyone trys to say is so good. You should really talk to the guys at APR or one of their outlet's if you want good mod's for you A4.

Yea you're rite about the platform. Trust me i did not go the wrong direction in the performance side of the audi. i have mostly everything out for the b7 and it still dosent tickle my pickle. i have dynoed the car at 294hp and 320tq. i know that GIAC is crap thats y i got the APR instead plus user friendly on the cruise control knob. the only mod left i can do is APR's K04 upgrade or BT kit (big-turbo). i really wanted to pick up a b5 S4 when i was gettin the B7.
Yeah, a B5/S4 is the way to go if you want an Audi to mod. But if you want to go with a BT kit for your A4. The eliminator kit is the way to go. KO4 is small compared to a GT28RS.
