Alarm in Setting Menu

Anyone know what this is for? I quickly looked at the book and it doesn't say much about it.

I think the time is how long before it shuts off dome lights and then goes into a safe mode; i.e. the fob key has to be in the car to start it. They explain it in the manual, that's how I learned about it.

so if the car doesn't pick up the key for one of those amounts of time the alarm will go off?

Let's say you have it at 1:00. I think that means that after one minute of turning the key off, you cannot turn the key back on unless the fob is nearby. The only alarm is the horn, and I think it goes off if the doors get opened or the key gets turned WITHOUT the fob being nearby. When I say key, I mean the nub where you would normally put the key. The nub doesn't come out and is separate from the fob.

OK, I got it. I guess I'll leave it at OFF and not mess with it.

Not exactly true. You probably know this, but that 'nub' does actually come off so you can insert the emergency backup key into the ignition if necessary.

I thought it was just a timer. I set mine at one hour and when I'm on long drives, it goes off at one hour driving time. I could have sworn it said "rest alarm" when it went off.

^^ Yeah that's what I thought, but I haven't been able to get it to come out.

^ I think you might be right. I'll have to get the manual out. I can't remember that whole thing. It's like 400 pages and an inch thick.
