I have been bored of my current car for the past 6 months and I found the Evo X and decided on it about 4 months ago after I somehow tricked a dealer to let me take one for a test drive. My current car is a lease and is up at the end of July so I tried to time it so I could get the X MR in late July.

What I should have planned better for was the 4 month wait! I am about 3 weeks out now and I have been on this forum pretty much every day for the past 2 months reading as much as I can. Some very exciting stuff.

I am planning on flying out to California and visiting our good friends at SCM and picking up my car July 19th, cruising up to our good friends at Robispec hopefully on July 21st to get some KW V3s installed. From there I will be hitting up the grand canyon, Vegas for a few days and then trecking it back to CT from there.

Anyone got any tricks to make the time go by faster? (Don't think about the Evo, don't think about the Evo, Don't think about the Evo!)

Ha...my lease isn't up until March and I'm already obsessing about my (as yet theoretical) X MR. So, I'll be checking evom.net and building my X on the Mitsubishi website every day for the next...oh, 9 months or so...

 

Haha, yeah I was originally planning on getting the 135i so I wasn't too obsessed but after driving it I decided it was boring as well .

Just think of the cross country trip as the perfect "break in" period!

I bet you will be able to give us a really in depth review of the SST once you're done!

make a photoblog out of the journey too, that will be a good way to document everything and nice to look back on if you keep the car for a few years!

I am actually a CPS (canon professional services) member and I am going to be loaning out some truly pro equipment for the journey 1Ds MK3 and a couple really nice lenses. I will be taking quite a few pics! My own equipment isn't too shabby either, 40D, 70-200F4L, 17-40F4L, 50mm 1.4. I am all set!

I'd love to see some good pics of the colour as my little point and shoot washes out the red and makes it look hella orange.

tell me about it i am moving next month and there is no way i can get a car before i move just for hassle reasons moving 400 miles away. and what my gf would say but last july i should have my X it is very hard looking at a forum and all the pretty cars when you dont have yours yet

i want more info on the mr's gearbox since its something new and its the car i want i wanna wait and see if anybody gets to have a problem with this new gear box thats what iam waiting
