4200 miles and 3 break pedals...
Once alright i believe you, second it is still okay . I would call it a bad luck, since less then 5000 miles. Third time, you dont except everyone to not being suspicious ,right?
And say "i have nothing to do with it." And so far you are the only one with this issue i heard of , not to mention the milage vs issues.
Although You right on that one, the pedal should be "idiot proof".
ps: i'm not calling you an idiot. Just a saying.

**** like this really pisses me off because I"m working towards getting my x and I see stuff like this. That coupled with how horrible mitsu dealership salesman are, really makes me wanna buy a different car! I love the x but is it really that cheap?
it could be dangerous if you're in the process of passing heavy traffic expecting to squeeze through a tight spot and then all of a sudden u lose power and sideswipe someone.. at least it's not the brake pedal though =x but i hope mitsu gets deals with this issue.
My budy was having the same problem. He got the evo x he went to the track and he broke the pedel as well. His seat ripped open on the sides harness broke the plastic piece on the seat handbrake fell apart trans wouldnt shift into sencond without it being forced in.
This all happend at one track event after he only had 1150 miles on the car. Took the car to the dealer the next day he went with a lawyer after a few hours at the dealer dealing with mitsu corp. he got his money back. Car was 4 days old. The only part on the car was the harness everything else was stock.

The lower half of the gas pedal folded over on my Evo 8 about a year ago, was still useable but this has gotten my thinking I better reinforce the pedal with some JB weld BEFORE this one gets stressed.
It's one person with the problem. The rest of us haven't had an issue. He's also not the only person on here that tracks his car. Obviously, it shouldn't break for anybody but one isolated incident is not enough to car 'cheap.'
So, your buddy tracked his car, broke the transmission, broke the gas pedal, and ripped the seat with his racing harness and the stealership gave him his money back? Why am I not believing you?

I have a pretty strong opinion on the matter too. I've had my car for six months and nearly 8000 miles; the original pedal is perfect, and I've had several chances to break it.
That said, I fully support DRAG and know he is a racecar driver, even if his right leg could punt me into the next subdivision.
You need to think before pwning yourself- UFO has an Evo X, and he posts in these forums all the time.

Gotcha, my bad. And I agree with you on that totally. I am tired as crap of seeing "the junky X breaks gas pedals" on the Subparu forums.

I guarantee I push the pedal harder and more frequently than 90% of the X owners here...which is why I am having the problem at an accelerated rate
FWIW, I have had a few people contact me asking for suggestions because they have broken their pedal, so just because I'm the only one posting about it doesn't mean that it isn't happening to anyone else.
As far as this being on the Subaru forums...that is no suprise. It is a bull**** design and should be made fun of. The funny thing is that every time it happens, I am around a lot of Subaru guys. Every event I go to regardless of what type of event it is, there are lots of Subarus racing, and I might be the only EVO unless my friends go with me. I am disappointed every time I show up and see lots of Scoobs and no EVOs. I think the EVO guys are busy on forums bragging about their mods and posting pictures of their cars in the Show and Shine
Wax on, wax off.

People, if you break your pedal, POST IT! The more cases of this, the more likely Mitsu will do something.
