6/28 Racing Pics - SCCA Nat Tour
I don't understand why its even made of plastic... typical evo fare i guess lol.
Even so that is such a safety concern. The OP is right in that whether its happened to you now or not, it may in the future due to long term stress. I don't think ANYONE wants to feel like their pedal is coming to an impending doom.

I guarantee I push the pedal harder and more frequently than 90% of the X owners here...which is why I am having the problem at an accelerated rate
FWIW, I have had a few people contact me asking for suggestions because they have broken their pedal, so just because I'm the only one posting about it doesn't mean that it isn't happening to anyone else.
As far as this being on the Subaru forums...that is no suprise. It is a bull**** design and should be made fun of. The funny thing is that every time it happens, I am around a lot of Subaru guys. Every event I go to regardless of what type of event it is, there are lots of Subarus racing, and I might be the only EVO unless my friends go with me. I am disappointed every time I show up and see lots of Scoobs and no EVOs. I think the EVO guys are busy on forums bragging about their mods and posting pictures of their cars in the Show and Shine
Wax on, wax off.

Wax on, wax off. There is thousands of evo X running in races and i never heard any of them break the pedals. Including EU , Asia or Australia . They might have done it, but some how it doesn't go public. OR it just not happening.
I think you are the type of player who breaks the joystick when he fights on the Play station. Thinking Ken might will hit harder ...
And complain the Sony made a bad joystick.
I think you need to find the roots of the problem in yourself.
PS , The fact is you are the only one so far in public and done it 3 times... kinda loosing its importance and weight. I'm waiting for others to post they broken pedal stories , until i will think this way. Sorry

I'm 260 and I have never had a problem when I am going through gears. Growing up as a drag racer, I push the pedal through the floor
A funny little story....I was holding the pedal in my hand this last time at the drag strip and an older guy I know came up to poking fun. He asked how I did that, and I said "I pushed it back to the other side of the globe where it was made" He laughed and told me that the last time he had his Mustang on the dyno, he made 630 on the first couple pulls, then on one pull he pushed the pedal as hard as he could and the car made 665. Now every time he runs that 9 second car down the track, he pushes it through the floor. I said..."why not just adjust your throttle cable" And he laughed. It is just a drag racer mentality. This pedal wasn't made for me...plain and simple
I'm done posting in here. I've said my piece. If anyone has questions about how I'm breaking it, how it weakens over time, needs pictures, wants the stress data I have from Inventor Pro, or anything else...just PM me. I'll be glad to help out.

i'm not try to be personal either , just a fact the problem is always coming back and always from you. I would be really happy if some one else would chip in his or her broken pedal experience . Just to make things clear out.
That is hands down the funniest thing I have ever read on this website. I almost puked from laughing.
Drag...Sucks your having soo much problems with the gas pedal. Such a stupid part to have problems with. With that aside...you do realize that pushing the pedal down hard isnt going to give you more hp, or faster times. No need to slam it really hard, just as long as its to the floor. Plus the x is a drive by wire, so there isnt any throttle cables. I think you may need to get the old school drag racer mentality out of your head. I agree it shouldnt ever break, but your on your third one, and unless there is a desgin flaw in yours, you are doing something wrong. Not trying to call you out our anything, but three gas pedals in that short of time, throws a red flag up. I myself have never broken a pedal, and I drag raced alot.

We're looking at having a working upgraded pedal in our car within a few days .
