EVOX Garages and Tools

Just wanted to share what I store my wifes EVOX and where I will work on it. My tools were from over 20 years of modifying cars. Can you imagine my first car was a side drafted TRD prepped Celica. Those were the old days. Hope you enjoy and by the way, I sold my carrera to buy the EVOX and I will be getting an STI shortly for myself to drive. When we switch, I guess it will all be same since I have to pay for both. Must be good to be a woman! Just kidding, I love her but I seem to spend too much time in my garage lately.

Hope you guys can share what you have done to your garages and or tools.

Very nice garage, kept very clean and organized!

Although I understand where you're coming from, unfortunately I already see this thread headed toward disaster as I'm sure some will see this as you trying to show off (obviously I see a hint of it, but that's not the point I'm trying to make), but anyway..

You're pretty lucky to have a garage...some, such as myself, have to park under a frikkin' bird hangout (cable line that runs directly parallel with my driveway). Sigh...someday.

Not trying to show off. Only some people will say that. Some may like it, some may not. I had a hard time letting go of my Carrera, but with the economy and my business on the bad end of it, I had to make some very quick decisions on what is practical.

For one, a Carrera is not a family car, When I bought it, we only had one child. Then the new one came and you guessed it, I made the decision to sell it. For what I sold it, I am now comfortable with the EVOX and Sti when I get it. We have to be honest with ourselves and what we can afford. The sad part, I can't really put alot of money into modding them like my past cars. I'll just have fun with the way they are stock.

I appologize if any of you think I am showing off, I just like sharing interests with others that share the same. Performance cars are my passion whatever the mark. Be Subie, be evo, be Lotus, be porsche, you name it. I am 41 turning 42. So if you are jealous in any way, I share with you that time and patience all come to those that work hard. I worked very hard and still I have my financial problems. I just hope the economy shifts for the better soon for all of us that work and have huge payments every month. I may have to tell my wife to work very soon but I just can't stand the thought of putting my children in day care.

Not pictured, I still have my very first tool I ever bought. A makita right angle drill. I also have the second and still use today, a Craftsman Corded reel shop lamp. I use to install car stereos for a living and that is what I did to pay my way thru college. From a prior business I owned, I have all the impact tools a hardcore mechanic can dream of. When I was young, my father use to say a man is only good if he has the right tools. I just wished I could afford the largest snap-on tool box in the world but that is just a dream.

For those that do have a garage of their own, I used Armstrong VCT tiles and the whole job including trowel and glue, tiles, you name it was 600 dollars total. about 5 hours of work with a compitent helper. My garage can only hold 2 cars because the houses that hold three well, cost a whole lot more in my area.

628, I really feel for you. When I was in college some 20 years ago, I use to have to park under a tree. Every week I would wash my car and I noticed dents. It wasn't bird dropping, it was avacados! I parked in the street after that and I didn't get dents on my roof, I got banged up bumbers instead!

If any of you wnat to know what I did to prepare my garage I will share everything I did. Have fun and go out and buy as many tools as you can. Afterall, you have one of the greatest cars in the world and it will make the top ten best turbo cars.

Very nice! It takes a lot of work to get it like that, I’m sure. Keeping it like that is easier but a continuous effort to put things away and tidy up afterwards. It’s always the balance of what to keep, in case you need it later, and what to get rid of.

Yes, it is VCT tile. I got everything at home depot. I really wanted to get a lift given how much I work on cars. May I say only my cars now since I don't have a retail business. I have always dreamed of a lift, but when I think about it, it can be one of the most dangerous things in the world if you have kids playing in there.

Here is a before shot, with my sold Carrera. I still have the esprit but will get rid of it soon to make room for the STI. Most of the items were moved into one of the rooms for my office. The economy is so bad, I moved my work to home. At least I can save on gas! I also can save on not having a lease on an office I won't need or should I say can't afford.

Not pictured, I have the over head storage for idle items and all the xmas decor and such went into the attic.
