"Most vehicle owners are not aware they are protected by federal law: the Magnuson-Moss Warranty – Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act of 1975. Under the Magnuson-Moss Act, aftermarket equipment which improves performance does not void a vehicle manufacturer’s original warranty, unless the warranty clearly and conspicuously states that aftermarket equipment voids the warranty. Most states have warranty statutes, as well. Which provide further protections for vehicle owners."

Does anyone know if our warranty actually says anything like this? I think it may. If that's the case, then justifiably mitsu is correct in doing what they do. Right?

You wont be wasting their time when you can look right at them and say that if you like the way the car drives you intend to buy it today. When i put my deposit in on my X before they were out, I told my salesman that if anyone test drove my EVO that I would not buy it. We even put that in writing. The point is when you are going to buy a ninch car like the X the people buying them want to buy them unmolested and have no miles. A car like a Tahoe the buyer does not care if the car has some miles on it. Go to a BMW dealership and try and test drive a M3.

i agree with what your saying but i think its a little far fetched that you should have to sign 12 papers and release all your personal info to just get a little PROSPECTIVE test drive .

If they thought you were serious about buying one you would have driven it by now. End of story...

and not to mention I have never had any mechanical defects with my car besides the usual clear coat fade on the brakes and spoiler..the car has 50,000 miles im 22 now....you know how many kids my age have done the same thing with their evo 9s? No because they crashed them with less then 10k miles on it because their irresponsible punks who parents sucked at raising them...are you gonna be one of these kids?
