Visit to mitsu...

I visited my local Mitsubishi dealer today for the third time. Still not aloud to test drive the car. I think its a little ridiculous to spend almost 40 k on a car and not be able to drive it first. Somehow i got into the conversation about warranty ,and what not and i asked one simple question if it would matter if i was to get something as minor as an exhaust. Immediately the guy said it would void your warranty im like wtf. Whatever to sum it all up this is the dealership id most likely be getting the car from ,and to be honest they are complete DI^*$ . Im so frustrated that i feel like buying an STI (J.k)

Anyone else's thought on this?

Well are you ready to buy the car or what? I am getting tired of reading these threads everyday. Go there and either show them your check book or get approved for financing and then I bet they will let you drive it. Until then you are just wasting their time.......espicially since you have been there three times now.

You are joking right? I have test driven cars that cost over 2x as much as the Evo (once without a rep in the car!) without the dealer batting an eye. If a dealer wants me to even consider purchasing their product, especially one that costs upwards of $30,000 then they better let me take a test drive.

The one dealer that pulled the "no test drive without signed paperwork" bs got a "Are you f'ing kidding me" quite loudly as I walked out, never to return. I will never buy a GM product again because of the experience (unless they make something cool )

the first time was to look at the car , the second time was to see the MR they got in, and this time was to really try and test drive it . I understand what a car salesman goes thru everyday with people wasting their time. Being my dad is financing manager at a high line auto gallery.

if a dealership is not letting you drive the car, there must be a reason for it. maybe you look too young to have 40K or whatnot. Show up with your bank statement showing that you have 40K+ on your account. that would make them stfu when you request to drive the new car.

i know i felt the same way , being i walked into a bmw dealership and drove a loaded 335i which had a bigger price tag on it. It was like a slap in the face that i couldn't drive a Mitsubishi (no offense) but you understand.

Have your dad call ahead and "grease the wheels" a bit. I bet he knows someone at the Mitsu dealer (or knows someone that does) and they can get you setup.

Frankly you need to be working with either the FI man at the dealer or the GM. The Evo is Mitsu's halo car and since you know people in the local biz you should be able to walk right in and get them to work with you without a problem.

Unless you're 18 or something. Then you're screwed

I am young but i don't look like a 12 year old and they see me drive up in a mustang gt every time so i think they can put it together that im the kind of person who would be in the market for this car ,and i mean business . Ya digg?

No he's not joking, and I totally agree with him. And it really depends on what the "other cars" were that were "2x as much."

There's a higher chance of the Evo being driven hard (and more of a demand to do so by teenagers, i speak from my own experience *years ago*), than say, a Lexus, which will most likely cost more, or even a Porsche, I'm sure won't be driven that hard on the test.

Can't remember when it was, 2-3 years ago, but my uncle and I went to go test drive Evo's/STi's. We went to 3 Mitsubishi dealerships and a Subaru dealership in the SoCal area, they all let us test drive new Evo's, and so did the Subaru dealer, they let us test drive a new STi. We drove 'em hard. And long. And we weren't seriously going to buy either. No intentions to.

And if I were to buy a car, I'd sure as hell would hate to get one of those 4.

Well anyway, point is: these dealers get kids goin' in all the time askin' for a test drive, some do it, some don't, but I guess they're startin' to realize legit buyers won't be so pleased buying one of the ones that were tested.
