Disaster - Help/Advice Needed
PM sent to OP. There can be several other issues causing this and this is being posted without him contacting us so that we can resolve this issue for him. I can state unequivocally that we always take care of our customers. No one is ever perfect 100% of the time but we try our hardest to be. For those few instances where there are problems, we stand behind our work and resolve them for our customers.
CLOSED pending OP resolving with vendor, vendor is making himself available all weekend to do so. OP reserves the right to re-open with results as does vendor.

I was going to say that it sounds more an air intake issue and not a tune issue. Honestly, I don't see how a tune can mess up a car that badly.
What CAN mess up a car that badly is: bad connection to the MAF, the tube after the MAF not properly secured to the MAF or turbo, air leak from the BOV and its attachment points.
Generally, any type of air leak between the MAF and turbo will cause it to: be difficult to start, instant limp mode, weird rpm flucuations. It does this because the ecu doesn't really know how much air the engine is sucking in and therefore doesn't know how much fuel to inject.

Since Aaron hasn't had a chance to reply yet, I'll post up something very quickly. The major problem is a spacer that his intake system uses to move the mass airflow sensor up a bit. Changing position of the MAF in the intake alters airflow readings. Once we discovered this little "mod" that came with the intake the problem disappeared. As a side note, we did not install his intake system and were completely unaware of the spacer moving the MAF until we really dug into his car to figure out what was going on. I'm sure Aaron will post up about his experience and I'm quite positive he is happy with our service.
Yep, it was the damn spacer. Basically, most of the times I had problems with the car were at night. Why? The air was cooler and denser and it made things even worse. During the day it was bearable, but at night basically horrid to drive. The limp mode sometimes caused the car to rev itself at lights, completely shut off boost, and even prevented me from accelerating sometimes.
Now that the spacer was removed, the car is running very smooth. Just glad DTM noticed that the spacer wasn't supposed to be there, or I may have ended up sacrificing the intake so I could drive the car.
So problem solved, phew. Thanks again to DTM

edit: to add, when i was not tuned, the spacer was on and the car ran great. again, the intake is NOT/was not the problem.
The problem in a case such as this is very few people have actual hands on experience with certain products that are available only in limited quantities and not so cheap either. Sometimes the guys in the US become guinea pigs for products produced in the JDM market without even knowing it. There is always some sort of difference in the JDM vs USDM market final product.
