Canadian Rear Bumper

What is up with the rear Bumper on the EVO X's sold in Canada. It looks pretty ugly to me. Just pointing that out. Is it some kind of safety requirement?

Imagine the stock evo rear bumper with a huge rubber pos on it... here I found a pic

Although its pretty ugly it'll probably protect the *** from light touching from another car.. but it looks like crap.

Not as extreme, but it prob. has the same effect as the old Lamborghini Countach with the bigass rubber bumpers in the front. An aerodynamic nightmare but acted like a shield for the car.

That's why you would be better served to get an 09 in Canada.

It's not THAT bad... c'mon!

I mean, it's not gorgeous or anything, but it certainly isn't a reason not to buy a car.

HAHAHA the Ford GT bumper is horrendous, Much worse then what is on the EVO X. I feel the pain of the Canadians when I see that. Anyway I thought I was the only one that noticed this but, It seems not. So why is the requirement changed for 2009?

Another reason just to import it from the states. Does anyone know the other differences between the US and Canadian models?
