lexus will feel like a million bucks inside.. the evo will feel pretty cheap in comparison.

depends what you want, sporty performance oriented car or luxury performance oriented car

Pretty good short summary.

Lexus = more comfortable and luxury, nice interior
Evo X MR = not as comfortable and more performance, not as nice interior

Having never driven either one, and being really tired and ready for bed, you should still use my unscientific-totally-pulled-out-of-my-*** rating system as the sole basis for your decision.

LOOKS:
* X MR = 6
* IS350 = 7

LUXURY:
* X MR = 6
* IS350 = 8

PERFORMANCE:
* X MR = 10
* IS350 = 7

TOTAL:
* X MR = 22/30
* IS350 = 22/30

I went from an IS350 to a Evo X GSR.

Lexus Pros:
Unparalleled interior quality
Great gadgets
Extremely smooth
Fast straight-line performance (could easily hang with my friends E46 M3)
Beautiful exterior
Very well built
Superb customer service (loaners cars)

Lexus Cons:
Numb steering
Mediocre handling
Very limited aftermarket
Difficult to mod
To me, it was a boring car to drive.
Interior wood finish can be scratched by a feather (to those who have owned one, they know that this is truly not an exaggeration)
Also, mine had a dash rattle that they could never really get rid of.

Evo Pros:
An extremely engaging/fun car to drive
Aggressive yet functional looks
Endless after market
Easy as cake to extract additional power from it.

Evo Cons:
Decent interior, just too many hard plastics
Poor paint quality
Mitsu service isn't the best unless you can find a good dealer like I have.

I don't regret getting rid of my IS350 at all. The Evo is sooooooooooo much more fun to drive.

IS-F > X
IS < X

The Lexus won't give you the ear to ear grin, but the comfort level would be no comparison.

If you are looking at the IS350, there is a Sport Package that isn't available everywhere which tightens up the suspension quite a bit.

But you still have to deal with the elastic torque converter feel from the stupid automagic tranny that's in the car.

And IMO the IS is simply not a safe car for head on collisions. The interior feels very small and the A pillar is pointing at your head.

Check out the pictures of the crash tests for the IS on http://www.iihs.org to see what I'm talking about.

Now, I will say that the Lexus dealers here in Dallas have been EXCELLENT and really treated my wife well.

Agreed.

If you want something that you wont see to much on the road, X is the way to go.

There's virtually no aftermarket for Lexus. That alone will keep me from getting one.

Why are you confused? 4 people told you pretty much the same thing, either you want a sporty car or a luxury oriented car... ?
