Should i go for it??

I'm not sure if this is a hot deal or if i should shop around some more. I went to a dealer today and I was planning on trading in my 05 GSR w/ 24,800 miles for a new Evo X MR w/ tech package for another 15k. So basically they'll sell the EVO MR for 40k and are valuing my Evo at 25k. Leaving me with a 15k tab, plus Tax and fees. Gimme some feed back, should i do it?

Yes, your evo is not even worth 25k in a private party sale.

Or just get a gsr w/ SSS.

Agreed, that seems awfully high for a trade in price. I'd jump on it if I were you.

25k for your car that means they are selling their car for more than they could, so it really works out the same, dealerships just present it differently to you to make you think you are getting a good deal.

I would defiantly do that. Personally though, I would go for the GSR with SSS. But as far as trade-ins you won't find a better one than that.

gsr with navi and sss costs $38k msrp
mr with tech pkg cost 40k.. i gues 3k difference gets me the bbs rims and the bilstein suspension..
I know my trade-in is a good deal, but I'm trying to lower the cost of the MR. it seems like Im paying MSRP for it.
so Main question here is , IS 40k a good price for MR with Tech PKG?

MSRP is $1500 more than what they offered you. It seems like a good price, especially being on the East Coast (I've heard about some terrible price gouging over there). If you smile every time you see the MR, get it & don't look back... good luck

I would not make that deal. Keep your '05 Evo. The X MR is a totally different car and it really doesn't feel anything like the last generation Evo. If you do decide to give it up, I would consider other cars and not just the X MR. The X MR doesn't jump the '05 Evo in performance at all. It just looks more mature, it has plenty more convenience features/options, it's an automatic, and it's just more civilized. An plus the X isn't a raw driver's car like the last Evo was. If I were you, I would test drive other cars to see how they compare to the X MR. And then if you truly still feel that the X is the better car and that you will always be happy with it....then I guess I would go for it.
