It just looks more mature, it has plenty more convenience features/options, it's an automatic, and it's just more civilized. An plus the X isn't a raw driver's car like the last Evo was. If I were you, I would test drive other cars to see how they compare to the X MR. And then if you truly still feel that the X is the better car and that you will always be happy with it....then I guess I would go for it.
Hmm that's a good point. I'm not really in a rush to buy the car anyway, but i love the new looks and more modern interior haha. Yeah i also considered the IS and BMW but i see the freaking car everywhere! I had also considered an acura TL but my sister got one and the interior seems to deteriorate fast. I guess i'll see what happens on Monday when i head back to the dealer. They didn't want me to get the X elsewhere so they said they'll speak with the manager on Monday and asked that i put a refundable $2k deposit. I've decided if they do agree on 15k ODD i'm definitely taking it. If it's 15k before taxes and fees, hm I think i might pass on the deal and check elsewhere. All the dealers in my area have a crap load of evo X. I don't know if they are just not selling that well or what.

Just a quick dumb question. Is the Navi in the X touch screen? I think i read somewhere it wasn't. Just wanted to double check.

Yes, the navi is touch screen but there are a few buttons you can use as well. Ask the dealer for a key to one of the Evos and play around with the nav for a half hour like I did I think it's a great unit.

Kind of OT, but I see you're in Edison - are you buying at All-Star? I just bought an X GSR basically at invoice there and there really was no hassle. The only negotiating we did was concerning my trade-in. I had a very good experience there, which kind of surprised me because every other dealer in NJ pretty much sucks. All in all, I think you're getting a pretty good deal - good luck.

Anymore opinions? Trading in 05 Evo for 08 Evo MR, and paying an additional 15k - 16k. I can't help but feel I could negotiate better.

Just an update, I went to all star and they were selling gsr at invoice and the MR's they said they would sell at invoice but only for the cars they had in stock. They had a red, charcoal, and white MR. The white one has 1000 miles used on demo, and the charcoal had the aero kit and navi, not a fan of charcoal, and the red was bone stock. My main req was to get the tech pkg. So i went back to bell and they are offering me my evo + $16,750 plus tax and fees. i'm sooooo tempted!!!

Is your Evo paid off? If so why get into debt? Sure the X MR looks nice. I drove one and think it's a great car, but just keep the extra money and put some money into your Evo.

DON'T!!! not the MR...there is no point in buying an evo with that type of trans... you are better off with what you have...the aftermarket is much bigger for your current vehicle..evo X not so much...this is the only thing I have against my purchase of the GSR...

Yeah my evo is paid off, and I would be paying in full for this one as well.

By aftermarket do you mean by parts i can upgrade or just resale value? I actually don't mind it the aftermarket. I kept my 05 evo stock the whole time, it was sufficient as i never took it to the track. Would you get the MR if that was the case?

If you don't mind having the TC-SST gearbox, than do it. If you want the manual, work a deal for a GSR with SSS. Seriously, the car is amazing, in MR or GSR trim.
