I just ordered a set of black with grey lettering last night. I already got an e-mail with a tracking number so hopefully they will be here later this week and I will have pics by the weekend.

I guess they are a hot item if on backorder already. It says 2-5 days to ship if they are in stock.

Did it say **Back order** on the site when you placed your order?

Edit: Well they called me back, said they are almost ready to ship (prob by the end of the week). They answered every question I had (very good CS at Rally Armor). I really hope they are worth the cost

Here's the email I received from rallyarmor.com on Monday morning at 1:38 AM (those folks must work late!) announcing that the mud flaps were finally available:

Dear valued customer,

Rallyarmor would like to announce the availability of our newest Mitsubishi EVO X Urethane rally mud flap application. For more information, or to place your order please visit:

http://www.rallyarmor.com/store/rall...-c-60_103.html

Red and Grey logo combinations are in stock and shipping, with Blue, Silver, and White options to follow later this week.

Thanks much
Team R/A

The colors refer to the lettering -- all the flaps themselves are black except for red ones with white lettering. I ordered mine with the gray lettering on Monday morning and received an email later that day that they had shipped!

Yea, I actually already got an email with shipping information for the white ones, so they are on top of things.

I waited so long for these stupid things and couldn't pull the trigger on the Mitsu flaps because of the metal plate which isn't to my liking. But, man, these things are crap. Look like they were cut on a bandsaw and the installation is a royal pain in the ***. Fender liner doesn't fit back properly after putting the L bracket in there at the front (sure the back will give the same issue) and the general fit is horrible. I forgot how much of a PITA it was to install on my VIII and recall vowing never again for Rally Armor back then: I wish I'd remembered. I'm loathe to punch 2 holes in my fender liner right now and am thinking I should just box them up and send them back. Not digging the new shiney finish either.

For $150 you get 4 pieces of plastic, some silver screws, plastic washers, clips, etc. Probably cost them $20 to make. Shoot, black screws would have been nice too.

First of all, this UR mudflaps are not plastic. This is just for starter about your knowledge and honesty in this comment. You didn't even read what is in here since in this thread is mentioned already . And certanly you dont have them or you cant make a difference between materials. The plastic and the UR is not even close.

Let me ask you when did you actually installed the mudflaps? Since i had it in my 8 -9-X.
I had no fitment or install issues ever. Never even heard of that.
I know people who wasn't able to install them , but those are wasn't a "wrench guys from the beginning" anyway. And with little help they could do it.
So maybe your capabilities are limited, and not the mudflaps to blame for your troubles.. Wait untill you got a OEM mudflaps install guide
You ceranly would be lost even more. So who's fault is that? If you cant do it , drop your pride and go to the pro.

To make these are not $20, i can assure you, since the UR is expensive etc. / no plastic/
And that is not your business anyway.

Oh, look, someone who is sponsored by Rally Armor. What a surprise. The 8 rear flaps were nigh on impossible to install due to the screws they sent that re-tapped the existing holes and took forever to line up. Plastic/urethane, same difference; it's not like we're dealing with platinum here.

Considering I do 99% of the work on my own cars, then I'm pretty sure that I'm capable of installing flaps. My previous 2 Evos only ever had one other person work on them and that was for a clutch install. Thanks for attacking me to try and stick up for your sponsor: shows what a classy guy you are. See my join date here? That's because I bought my first Evo in '03 and have had one in my garage ever since.

Why are these crap? Front L brackets are too short. You screw into your side skirt while trying to get it through that hole. ALL of the brackets are plastic. They were metal on the VIII flaps. Screwing into plastic is the stupidest idea ever. While they don't have to be installed with a Herculean touch, the plastic is just too forgiving and will strip with the flick of the wrist. Plus, how exactly are you supposed to hold the backing for the screw that goes through the fender liner when it's in place? Or, maybe you're just to expect the 2mm thick fender liner to support the screw? Another bright idea if so.

Plus, it certainly is my business to ***** about how much they cost if I'm paying for them.

So, any other comments or are you just going to resort to attacks again?

Sounds like some possibly valid concerns to me. The brackets are really made of plastic? Do you have any pictures of everything that was included? I was going to order a set of these this weekend, but that sounds like a poor design. While I'm no stranger to a wrench, the installation instructions are significantly more complex than I expected for a mud flap install.

Anyone else who ordered these early attempt an install yet?

I'm going to be informative in this post instead of fight. It is beneficial and do more good then a personal fight.
When i had my 8 and 9 i wasn't "sponsored by them" .
And 1000 of racers/pro/ and regular people using them. You are the first who complaining, i know of...
Plastic hold your plastic under panel too, and stay there no?

The longevity and durability is the most important for the good mudflaps since they are get abused a lot. Then being able to install them with one hand. Also way more easier then the OEM one's. /It was one of the primary point when it was designed /

Between a difference plastic and UR. It is kind of same, when you are try to run on diesel in you evo vs V-power. Both is fuel, if we really think about it that way.
