if there's any EVO X owner out there willing to let me drive their cars at the track please let me know. i'll be happy to take the chance to see if it really is the clutch, but i seriously doubt it is.
AHAHAHAHAHA dude you need to stop talking smack when you dont own or drive the X, as my friend steinv said getting the X rolling is the hardest part and thats the reason y the tens clutch is a worse problem then with the 8 and 9

Its okay to sound like a dick when this guy gives a dick of a response...sry but you do

maybe your right. The added weight is probably a lot of extra stress on the clutch. But i still think part of it is driver error. I really dont think a 10s clutch is gonna break after a few launches. And I dont think a clutch is whats keeping the 1/4 mile times so low. The first fresh launch when the clutch is still good to go no one still cant get close to magazine times?

def1, If you dont own an X, you have no idea what you're talking about. The X is making power but the clutch cant handle it once heated up.

The 2step makes tracking the ten rather simple, reaction times dont affect the quarter mile, the only driver error i can think of there can be is getting locked out of a gear or perhaps dropping the clutch too hard every gear b4 it can catch. The evo is simple with a good clutch, sry but its not driver error, my second track launch ever and i got a 12.58, sry ppl its not driver error bc im a noob and thats not a bad time (i had a great launch and gears meshed exactly). im sure a more experienced driver could have done even better tho, dont get me wrong!

Those of you who think so highly of your driving abilities please stop, its making others who have the ten really aggravated (shelling out 1600 for a new clutch installed would do that). Ive been driving and launching cars enough on the street to know that im not complete noob.

Oh and btw i have driven and launched a stock IX clutch, its like titanium compared to the tens clutch (comparable to butter)

Well if what you say is true that is rather sad. You buy a 40k sports car and have to upgrade the clutch =/

Im sorry if I offended any x owners but considering the same was said about previous evos I jumped to conclusions you can say. I really really wanna launch an x now to see how it feels haha. Too bad you practically have to buy the car before you can even sit inside it

well 34k for me but yea ur def right, ridiculous me and mitsu dont get along about that, its like each dealer has a clutch aisle and they all smile and say "we knew you would be back soon" lol

its nuts, how can a car be so beautifully engineered and fail at a primal level....

Use the car as its intended and there is no reason you would need to upgrade the clutch. The Evo was never built to be used for drag racing.

EXACTLY right. The evo x is performorming just as designed. The clutch was specifically designed to be weak so that anyone going around launching the hell out of the car wouldnt damage the transfer case or rear or anything else. Remember all those complaints about blown TCs from previous gen evos? Im SURE the engineers were instructed to make sure that didnt happen as much this time, and understandably so.

ONLY if your wheels spun. If not, then it didn't affect your time at all.
