Hey everyone. My first question is concerning octane boosters and do you guys use them? If you do, please post which one.
Second question. My oil change is coming up soon and I was wondering if you guys use the recommended Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil or tried some other? My STI driving friend/rival suggested Elf Synthetic. Any suggestions on what would be the best choice?

I would stay with Mobil 1 synthetic oil. No i dont use octane boosters lol, that is like high school kids that think there are going to gain like 30 awhp with octane booters lol.
Now if the gas station only offers like 87 or 89 octane then hell ya get some octane booster.

I use STP Octane booster and STP Gas Treatment at the same time when filling up, Mitsubishi Manual recommends it, if you desire to do so. Everywhere I go, I just get 91 Octane....hopefully by using the booster and gas treatment I'm up to at least 92
Did the same thing with my Evo 8 and never had any problems and the car seem to even run better.

i once read that the manufacturers do not recommend these boosters ans the MMT and other additives are harmful to the stock fuel system...
I use to use Toluene in my STI... that hardens the rubber in the fuel lines.... yeah crazy stuff and that was my DD.. two gallons of toluene per fill up. We get crappy 90 octane here in TnT

Toluene by its self will dry out rubber, but most gas has lubricants in it that will make up for this assuming its a mostly gas mixture.
Toluene fine for in tank use, same with denatured alch of, Xylene etc.. lots of good "octane boosters" out there.
From my DSMlink logs Torco is the best I've found.
