I'd just paint it then polish and wax it a bit to blend it in. After jeeping and rockrash, that kind of stuff does not bother me anymore.

I will, after seeing that, try to remember to ask them to take it easy on my wheels when mine are due for a change.

I had this happen to mine as well, and concluded that it was probably Mitsubishi that damaged the wheels. They use those cheap, crappy wheel weights. I had nearly identical scratches on all four wheels, all the same exact width, and each had a bunch of grime around it where I couldn't wash because it sat behind the weights.

They should use the stick-on weights that go inside the wheels like every other normal manufacturer that uses nice wheels. So either Mitsubishi scratched them when they put them on, or the shop did when taking them off. Either way, they had no business being there in the first place.

<--- Used to, and will shortly be running a tire shop once again.

Usually when we would make a mistake, the first thing we would do is own up to it, and try to be as forward as possible to try and make some sort of gesture to show that while accidents and mistakes happen, we do our best to make sure we dont lose business.

What I would say? I would push further on if this is a chain of stores. There must be an owner/ regional boss somewhere there.

The immediate solution would be to take up the manager on the refurbishing (great jobs can be done honestly) and insist they provide you with a means of transportation. While that will cost them quite a bit more than a new wheel, he will probably offer to buy a new wheel.

Take your new wheel, and give them the scratched unit so you get your wheel and they dont get completely raped.

yea i just got home from the dealer yesterday after having them change out all 4 of my tires. All 4 came back with some minor scuff marks. Some i'm assuming were where the weights used to be and some i guess from their crowbars? I always felt like this dmg is inevitable that's why i didn't go back to the dealer to complain. Can i really expect it to come back out looking the way it did when it went in? My car is only a month old and the rims were in perfect mint condition when i first went in.

I experienced the scuffs where the factory wheel weights were too. Makes me sad .
