I would be looking at the possibility of crankcase ventilation issues, especially with the crank seal leak. The crank seal itself may be fine, with increased crankcase pressure being the real cause.

Quote: Well i have an other important question about what they found out it was. If in fact this is what my car has as well will this cause a boost least or compression surge. Because I e mailed nick at dtm and he said i was the first case of having a compression surge which is kinda odd. So i was thinking this might have something to do with it.

Plz any help full inputs would be great thanks.
I gotta be honest with you guys. The only person who knows less about this car's engine than the dealer in town is me. These guys didn't even know it was an evo until I told them. They're a toyota dealership that just bought the mitsubishi dealers next to them a couple months ago. Yes I am nervous about taking my car to them, but since this was a small oil leak, I thought they would at least be able to tell me where it was coming from. I'm giving them the chance to fix it because I'm in the middle of Idaho with no decent place to take it. I don't know how much reliable information I can get for you since I don't have a lot of good faith in the dealer themselves.

Spoke to my service advisor at the dealership. They traced the fluid leakage to the timing cover. They're disassembling it to find out why it's leaking.

I noticed i have some oil leaking out the aluminum intake elbow at the base of the intake. I cleaned it out and havent checked it gain, i guess its from the vent line in near the valve cover?

just checked my oil a bit ago and its at its normal level.. I havent had the chance to get under the car yet to see if theres any leaks.. Where should i be looking specifically? Ive had 3 Evos and i knew those cars and motor like the back of my hand but this new Evo, i havent had the chance to take my time and look and study the motor and engine bay yet

Yeah...it'll be "my buddy's milk man blew up his motor, and he said he has friends that had the same thing happen" Or, like this thread where maybe a handful out of the thousands of Evo 10's on the road developed some sort of oil leak, so that means every Evo 10 must have one too. Gotta love the internet

Are you being sarcastic? Obviously there's more than enough people having the same issue...so yeah, it should be brought up. If you've followed the thread, it's nothing major where you'll have engine lock-up. But it's annoying...especially for a new car.

And how do you know if it's "a handful out of the thousands of Evo 10's on the road developed some sort of oil leak"...? Doesn't it even concern you in the least bit? It's not the same as the breakage of the gas pedal issue. But more than 4-5 people have spoken up about the same fluid leakage problem.

Btw, I picked up my car today. Timing belt cover was leaking which they had to repair. From what I understand I'm not the only person who've come through the service department with this issue. So your whole "a handful out of the thousands of Evo 10's on the road developed some sort of oil leak" statement...totally out of place. Hopefully your car won't develop the leakage issue if it hasn't already.

Checking oil level isn't going to tell you anything. You physically have to check underneath the car for leaks. Check the lower block around the timing belt area. Check your plastic cover underneath as well for oil.
