I talked to my dealer today and they were not aware of any TSB for this issue. Anyone have a number?

they didnt give me any of the tsb info other than that they had to call mitsu...

however, they just told me that my car "just had too much oil in it"
and that it all came out of the breather.

now, i find that odd cause :
a) then manual says it takes 5 quarts, which isnt a hard task to accomplish since the oil companies nicely package oil in quarts.

b) my car was 1 1/2- 2 quarts low (or however much your guess would be if the dip stick was under the first dot, since its ideally supposed to fall in the middle of the two dots. so even if it were "too full" why would it just keep dumping oil out the breather.

c) my car also lost all this "excess" oil in a matter of 2 weeks/1000 miles.

d) why if it were so full, would they have added more oil so that the level is now once again between the two dots as recommended

so ill continue to drive it as normal, and next week when the undercarriage of my car is once again coated in 1-2 quarts of oil, ill take it back to them and ask them why they enjoy wasting so much of my time

No TSB yet.
I took my car in for the 15k service last week and told them about my little leak. They said
"Found leak from timing chain cover bolt behind power steering pump. R&R Power steering Pump, resealed timing cover body"

I know this thread is old, but my car just started leaking like a ****. It looks like engine oil but my engine oil smells like gasoline and this doesn't. It's building up on top of the plastic underbody and leaking everywhere. Just trying to get some insight before taking it in for warrenty.

Yeah thats what I thought so I replaced the factory one with a new one, cleaned everything and it's still leaking like crazy. Like I said, the oil on the floor doesn't smell like gasoline but the engine oil does. For the life of me I can't see where it's coming from. So far I've only taken off the plastic oil plug cover and don't see a damn thing. Tomorrow I 'll take off the other plastic underbody.

All I have for mods is the cobb ap, testpipe and aem intake. I suppose I should flash back to the stock map and take off the test pipe before it goes in for service?

The oil drain plug crush washer is the factory metal washer that comes between the x and the oil plug. It is very simular to the one you would use on a spark plug. I replaced the metal one with plastic and I'm sure this isn't were the leak is coming from.

I know what it is/does. I just wanted to see how this had any relationship with the oil leak from the t-chain cover.
