Evo + Family
Okay, this is kind of a follow-up thread to the "Twins!" thread I had started a couple weeks back. I'm over the shock now and we are coming up with a plan for the future. I also have a 2 year old toddler in addition to twins on the way.
I know we are getting some big car like a Honda Odyssey for the wife. That will be the primary family hauler.
If for some reason I had an Evo X and had to put all three kids in the back, I think it can be done (there are three latch anchors and the width is there). The problem I see is with the stroller. The trunk space is a joke in the X. However, they make ultra-compact strollers that might fit and that will come into play at around 6 months old.
So, if I took my newborn twins in an Evo X, could I fit a "Snap N Go" Double Stroller in the trunk? It is essentially a frame with wheels that you attach the infant car seats too. I can always put diaper bags in the rear foot wells. Obviously this is not for road trips. I just need to be able to do it in a pinch. Let me know if you have tried putting this thing your X before.

If this can't work then I may have to look at something like that under-steering STI hatch that Subaru makes.

Wow, don't make me think about my future. lol The thoughts of having kids is giving me a headache. j/k
Seriously, you should be able to make it work if you gave it the effort. However, STi hatch would definitely be friendlier when it comes to storage space. Even with the small trunk in the Evo there's gotta be a few options for compact strollers. I just find it hard to believe why you wouldn't be able to make it work. Trunk is small..but not that small. lol.

Try Aprica brand .. they are lightweight small footprint size .. not really cheap .. but hey .. who says looking after your future generation is cheap??
I can just squeeze 2 aprica prams in with space for a nappy bag .. so I think you may get a little more with the single pram and trolley style

Stroller, bah!
Be a man, carry'em both wherever you go. If you need a free hand, you can always stack the twins one on top of the other. Really.
Srsly, I have twins and hardly ever used a stroller for them when out; the twin dynamic means that you hardly ever go out alone with them for any length of time. We only strolled them around the neighborhood.
I wouldn't plan too hard for a stroller that would fit in your Evo if I were you; you won't likely need it as often as you think.

I know a double stroller would fit in a CT9A Evo. You would be amazed what you can get to fit in the trunk. Part of this is showing my wife some possibilities. I have three kids to tote.
Generally, if I end up taking the kids somewhere in the Evo, it means I'm on my own. I know I would probebly not even bother with a stroller.

I have 4 daughters myself but they are older so I didn't have the Evo when the youngest was still in a stroller. Anyhow, if I wanted to know which strollers would fit and be sure about it then I would go buy some strollers and test fit them in the trunk. Then I would take back the ones I didn't want.
I also imagine that if you were cool and went to a place like Toys R' Us then they might let you take the demo strollers to your car for a test fit.
Anyhow, eyeballing the trunk of my X...I'm pretty sure the double-wide collapsible that we had would NOT fit. That thing was a beast and took up a lot of space in the back of our Odyssey. Which is by the way, an awesome family car...get the Touring model...your wife will thank you for the electronic babysitter (entertainment system) and you might actually like the handling a bit on it.

I think you should look at the Outlander XLS instead.

LOL, my wife is actually pretty set on the odyssey touring. Once I redeploy, I am going to take that snap n go and do some test fitting before I buy anything. I personally like the Outlander too, but I doubt my wife would even give it the time of day.
Normally, I would just give up and get an STI hatch, but the exploded motor threads in IWSTI are scaring the **** out of me. I like autocrossing, hpde and ocasionally quarter mile track. I may just have to go back to the Evo IX since the trunk on them is big.

Yeah, the wives seem to really like that version of the Odyssey...probably because it's the most expensive.
We just checked out the Outlander a couple of weeks ago for kicks. It is too small for a family with 3 or more kids. The third row is basically a jumpseat and far too cramped for our 6 and 7 year olds on a long trip.
