for me the X was my first car and this is the only thing that it went through my head

Performance over Quality

I have had some of the problems you mentioned and 1 or 2 that you didn't mention, but they don't bug me so long as I don't get stuck in the middle of the road =\

I guess the real question for you would probably be, do you want quality or performance? if quality is what you are seeking for, then the X might not be the best although not the worst either, and if you are seeking for performance, then quality shouldn't be an issue, and minor problems like those can always be covered by the warranty.

Also, everyone says for a 35k car there shouldnt be any problems. Well 35k for a car isnt that much, and much more expensive cars have more/bigger problems.
it comes out to be about $62K OTD here in canada for an MR. so i think for that price, people would expect the staples not to come out of the seat, idling issues, etc...

Wow.

Too bad most of you weren't around back in the 70s and even 80s.

In sports cars, you were lucky if your MGB didn't leak water into the cabin straight off the showroom floor.

Seat fabric slightly pulling away from the seat? Toe issues on an adjustable alignment that was probably knocked around during transit? Give me a break. Enjoy your car.

No doubt (not that I was buying cars in the 70's or 80's )

Seriously if the WORST thing wrong with my first of a generation car is that the seats are pulling staples and the idles a bit rough (noone on here has had a cammed car have you?) then I am tickled ****less.

Perhaps majority are still in the denial stage

Different brand of cars have their each and own problems. It's the passion/love for the car that makes us forget about the flaws but that is up for you to decide if your up for the flaws.

denial stage for what?
They say the tranny is notchy. Mine is not. not only my opinion here...
Others drove my car too.
I had a stall issue but it was fixed with reflash. No hardware issue.
Other then that what else? Broke gas pedal 3times same person less then 5k miles?
One or two oil dripping issues?
Should i agree with who on the X problems , if mine doesn't drop oil etc?
I did agree withe the flash, but nothing else so far . After 9K miles. I have a GSR.

Sorry if can't feed someones's hunger for the X problems.

Likewise here, Robevo. 6500 miles, GSR. No staples coming loose, no wierd tire wear, no leaks. Got the dealer flash and no idle issues. Sure the interior isn't BMW quality, but I knew that going in

Good for you guys who doesn't. Like I said every brand of cars have each of their own problems. It's good to research and not act on impulse when buying your first new car. I sold my IX and have been tempted several times to get another one but i keep reminding myself that its a buyers market if i buy a house now i can always find a evo later.

The only problem with the X I've seen locally is launch issues.

Someones awefully defensive. .
How come this board is so quick to get snappy at every new guy who has legitimate questions about problems with the X.
I get that most of the problems the OP listed were rare and isolated incidents, BUT THEY STILL HAPPENED SOMEWHERE.
he didnt just pull these things out of his ***

If this thread is a repost, point him in the direction of a pre-existing thread that can answer his questions.

With the time and energy you invested in telling him to "go buy a Honda Civic", you couldve helped him out, or stroked you fragile ego. . most likely the latter.

I think you'd be better going back to the point right before you bought the car, instead of after. Punching yourself in the nuts would be more beneficial to you if you did it BEFORE you signed(although, I think hiring a midget to do it for you might yield better results. They're perfectly sized to hit that particular target most effectively. You'd be punching at an awkward angle, and your genetic trait that prohibits you from harming yourself would have you pulling your punch.) That way, you'd be rolling on the ground in agony, and wouldn't have the capacity to sign anything.
See how that works ?

Great a midget expert.. why can't i find one when i need one

No use of punching self in the nuts or hiring a midget. My point is that if you have an evo have fun with it. Not everyone has the privilege to own or drive an evo as a dd.
Everyone's going to have different opinion about the X whether you like it or not. You may or may not have problems in some point but just deal with it.
