2003 Porsche 4S or Evo MR
2003 Porsche 4S or Evo MR
Well... after test driving a 2003 996 C4S and a EVO MR... I'm now stuck!
I kinda fell in love with both... I'm needing some advice on anyone who has experience with both or just some insight...
$45K - 2003 Carrera 4S w 35K miles (Full leather, power seats etc...) (2yr/100K warranty)
or
$38K - 2008 Evo X MR (Nav, some leather) NEW
What do you think?? Thoughts.... I'm 36 Years old so you can take that into account.... This would be for some daily driving but primarily a weekend car..

IMO, the Porsche will hold it's value better and be more of a "panty dropper" type car. Of course maintenance on it will suck.
That said, if you can get into a 997 I think you'll be happier long term...

I've owned a 997 C2S and an Evo X GSR and ultimately, if you can temper the lower build quality of the Evo and the slight decrease in attention to detail in terms of driving dynamics, the Evo will be substantially cheaper to run while offering similar (and more accessible) performance.

I had a 2003 EVO 8, which I sold to purchase a EVO X. While doing so I drove a 996TT, that is all it took! I've always had an older Porsche as a second car, now I have a 911 TT as a daily driver and the 951 to play with on the weekend.
The first oil change on the 911 was surprising, 12 quarts of Mobil 1 and 2 seperate oil filters (the 911 has a dry sump system with 2 filters), but this only has to be done every 15,000 miles. The 911 is built better with higher rate materials (of course you pay for it, the original sticker on my car was $139,789.00 PLUS gas Guzzler!) but does cost more to repair (again more costly materials).
Eitherway you win!
