You are completely backwards here;

People who create a new thread about an existing topic say "Search first!", not create a new topic. Then reply to existing topics as to not over-saturate the forum with duplicate threads.

Who peed in your cheerios this morning?

Not sure what your problem is, but that is not a very nice way to treat another member. Evo owners complain about mpg, lets tell them to buy a hybrid or diesel. Evo owners complain about 5th gear, lets tell them to buy a 7 speed auto with cruising gears...you get my point.

I just made a comment to him on another thread about it as well. Its good to see some people are sticking up for others. he does have a point to some extent, but he is going too far with it in my opinion.

When the thread is 4 years old and should have been closed years ago its quite alright to start a new thread. You do realize that when people search it give you the most recent threads and applicable threads? This thread would have been buried deep in the forum. You are acting like you discovered the holy grail of threads.

This is a forum for enthusiast and we love this car for what it is and what an amazing car it is. If you are going to whine about something useless then be prepared to take abuse.

Obviously it's not useless if several people have said they would have use for it. I wouldn't need one, but I also wouldn't need heated leather seats or a sunroof. That doesn't make them useless.

I use mine all the time in my evo...I just used it this morning because of the snow and rain.I like having it.But on my 2g eclipse I shaved it off just because the way it was I thought it looked terrible,I also shaved the antenna off of that car.Also on the 2g I never used it because the shape/angle of the hatch glass mostly let water just run off.

Back on topic I thought the reason why cars have rear wipers is the angle of the rear window? The previous evos and other vehicles I notice have a rear window that's more verticals so the air that's passing the roof doesn't blow the water/snow off the window. Where as the X window is more slanted.

Bringing this thread back...

I'd love a rear wiper on my X. I used the one on my Evo 8 on most mornings and every time it rained. The X GSR's rear visibility is bad enough as it is, a rear wiper would really help!

Anyone here ever retrofit a rear wiper onto a car? I guess the hardest part would be having the glass drilled. The motor from an Evo 8/9 would likely make a good donor. The angle of the wiper arm shaft would have to match the X's rear window.

Any ideas?

Put some RainX on the back window and it should be as good as having the wiper I'd imagine...

The Rain-X helps for sure but the wiper/washer is great. Maybe this will end up being a project that's not worth it but I'm going to look into it.
