A little problem

Well, went to the track today to see what times I could get. This was my first time ever doing the quarter mile and I was a bit nervous. I launched the car about 6 times and I was trying to get to the mid 13's but couldn't. I decided to quit and headed home and on my was home, my rpm is going crazy. I would be driving down and it would jump 2000 rpm and would go back down. It felt like I was slipping the clutch but my foot wasn't on the clutch.. I guess my clutch is fried and I need a new one. Any suggestions anyone????

Let the clutch cool completely and drive it normally.

This clutch DOES NOT LIKE to be launched.

Yeah.. You slip the **** outta it enough, and you could glaze it, if not out-right kill it. If it doesn't come back, you need a new one

HA HA I did that on my clutch. You have to let the clutch cool down. But a stock clutch cant take to much of a beating. You burned it up. Looks like it is time for an ACT clutch now. Act you can beat up pretty good. And you saying you never tracked your car sound like your were riding the clutch a lil more then your suppost to. Let me guess your 60 ft were about 2.2 give or take.

PS make sure you get it change quick the longer you wait the more $hit you will have to change.

What time(s) did you get? You said you kept trying to get mid-13s but couldn't.

My best was a 14.1. I would launch the car, and I was slipping on the clutch. That did it right there.

Just think of this, after getting in your aftermarket clutch you'll be able to launch it just about as much as you want to.

What mods do you have. I have very little mods and I am running 13.0 - 13.1's consistently. I would say if your launchs and shifts are on point you should easily hit mid 13's but I could be wrong... And yes a new clutch would be very very very nice haha. I think I may need one fairly soon. But haven't noticed any problems yet and I have launched my car several times.

not true, AWD traction and launches burn up the stock clutch, whe you fix that you will start to put stress on different parts.

"somethings got to give"

tires, clutch, center dif, drive train in general... drop a strong clutch in there and you start to stress the other parts more.
