AMS Shop TIME ATTACK EVO X build Thread!
This has been a great thread. You guys should really compile everything once its finished and post a write-up on your website. It would be 1) a great sales pitch and demonstration of what you guys can do and 2) very informative for those who want to see what it takes to build an all-out time attack machine. The X is a pretty quick car from the factory but this is taking it to a completely different level!
*edit* BTW love that NOS drink cameo in the radiactor duct shot. Brian O'Connor would be proud!

That is some serious innovation right there! This project of your guy's is above and beyond any wildest dream. This car is going to make a huge wave in the competition. I can't wait to see the final product.
What are you guys doing for circulating air through the engine compartment? I would venture to guess with a splitter that big and most if not all the air coming through the grill being ducted out of the hood the engine compartment is going to get insanely hot.

Air going over the engine can aid slightly in cooling but what really keeps an engine cold is the coolant and oil. There are small areas of the car that air will be flowing and the back of the hood will be open for hot air to escape.
If you look at DTM and even Nascar the engine bays are just about totally sealed with the exception of the back of the hood where hot air can escape. Engine cooling will not be an issue at all

I know pretty well what a NASCAR engine bay looks like and trust me when we started using the splitter heat was/is an issue. It's not such an issue for the engine as it is things like power steering, shocks (won't be an issue in this instance) anything electronic, plastics, etc...
