This is what a $35k car's interior should be.

Out of sheer curiosity, what do you think it's missing? I've long asserted that Mitsubishi took a step backwards in interior materials quality, relative to the CT9A, choosing to use creaky, hard plastics. Did you have other factors in mind?

First of all, you should be flogged just for saying "It is what it is". Second, and more importantly, how can you get on evo owners for justifying their spartan and plain interiors when you drive a lotus? I absolutely love your car because it stands for function over feature, but that's partly why I drive an evo over an S4.

Your statement contradicts the fact that you bought a $50-60K that barely has an interior. Honestly, I have never figured out why people make a big deal about an evo interior. I thought it was certain subi guys justifying they're slow car but it seems like ppl actually care.

I don't care if leather is a little more slippery than cloth; it looks nice and adds a bit of quality to the interior that IMO needs to be there. The side and thigh bolsters will still hold you in just fine so the "slippery" comments are a moot point to me. I will say this though: I am not a fan of the pleats of leather striping accross the seat and backrest.

I much prefer the ones that are available as a kit from any of the dealers that are part of the certified mitsu leather program. Here is a link to a thread where someone got them installed and they look much better to me than these. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=366015 Now if mitsu would only offer these as an option from the factory so we wouldn't have to pay labor to have them installed after buying the car...

Agreed.

The only think that I prefer is the black vs. the "carbon fiber" plastic on the dash (as in the MR).
I just thoughts the seats looked nice is all (and would be even better wrapped Alcantara.) And with the exception of the harness channels, I'm happy with the GSR seats. Evidently, I could have picked a more neutral title for the thread .

And I'm with you on the faux carbon fiber dash trim; it's an eyesore to me, but meh, I should be paying attention to the road anyway.

You can't have your cake and eat it. For $35k, you get a very high performance car in the Evo. You're going to have to sacrifice other things to get that bargain performance. I happen to like the faux carbon trim, since it creates some contrast in an otherwise dull interior.

I almost went for "that." In the end I thought the Evo was flat out more fun to drive than the S4's I looked at. And so, here I am.
