MR Rev Limiter Failure
MR Rev Limiter Failure
Is there a rev limiter function in full manual mode in the MR? I ran the car today in manual mode, put in first in traffic, forgot it was in manual, accelerated from about 10mph and forgot to shift. The rev's went almost to 8000 when I finally shifted after hearing the pitch of the rpm's and reminding me I was in manual. In auto mode, the car obviously shifts for you at around 7000. I can't believe there is no limiter that cuts fuel in this situaiton, unless it is at about 7600-8000, but I released the throttle at that point and shifted. Don't want to test it again to see what happens.

I can't imagine that there is no rev limiter.
The fuel cutout is 7600 rpm, IIRC. I'm still breaking my MR in, so I can't tell you what it does spinning that fast yet. But, I would be willing to bet my car on the fact that Mitsu didn't forget to put in a rev limiter, auto-manual or not.
