Congrats to AMS !!!

Is this the same car? This one is listed as 480whp on a 35R turbo.

The X in this thread was listed as 487hp, which I would assume to be around 390whp. Is that about right?
AMS Prototype GT30R Turbo kit
AMS Front Mount EVO X Intercooler
AMS Upper intercooler pipe
AMS Fuel Rail
RC Engineering 750cc injectors
Eric/anybody,

How was the 30R engine tuned, as that was not listed?

As Ivan said it has been really hard these past couple of months to keep quiet about the win. The competition was really tough and considering we put this car together in under three weeks from start to finish we were THRILLED just to even compete in the event. To win was just awesome!! We have competed in a bunch of different events over the past few years from One lap of America, Time attack, Drag Racing, Top Shop and so on. What was the most impressive and shocking thing we took away from this event was what we put into this car. This was bar car the most mildly modified "shop" car we have ever built. It was just some bolt ons, a custom turbo kit and some good suspension and brake upgrades. The motor from valve cover to oil pan was BONE STOCK and completely untouched. This is a car that any EVO X owner could easily build.

Here is a basic run down of the parts that were on the car:

AMS Prototype GT30R Turbo kit
AMS Front Mount EVO X Intercooler
AMS Upper intercooler pipe
AMS Small Battery Kit
AMS prototype fuel surge tank system
AMS Shifter bushings
AMS Fuel Rail
AMS corner weight and alignment
Endura-Tech prototype Monotube coilover system
Stoptech 4 Corner big brake kit
RC Engineering 750cc injectors
buddy Club seats
Exedy Stage II clutch

I think that is about it. If I have left something out I am sorry...its a bit late here and the eyes are not what they used to be.

Thank you to all of our sponsors that helped with this build. We will do a full release on this next week with some details on the actual event and what we were up against.

looks like the little EVO X with a little work and can handle a GTR just fine

THANK YOU AGAIN!

Eric
Well I guess that answers all the hype around the new GTR; JoJo where are you? Still going to get the GTR after these results?
Congratulations AMS!!!! What an effort in such a diverse and tough field of cars. These results demonstrate that with some modifications and excellent work a ~$35K car can outperform an ~$100k car (with mark ups). Awesome results!!!

Later, Ken
AMS Intake and Cat Back single exhaust
RobiSpec K&W suspension package
Iveytune (322 all around)

Awesome work there AMS! Since I plan on a similar sized turbo in the spring it's definitely the level of performance I'm looking to get out of the car.

Eric/anybody,

How was the 30R engine tuned, as that was not listed?

Yes, this is the same car. The reason for the HP drop was due to lack of fuel. We removed the prototype surge tank and installed it on a customers car prior to putting the 35R on the car. As Chris mentioned in the post, it would make more HP but he had to let out early due to fuel pressure dropping.

The 30R engine was flashed also.
