Anyone bought an Evo X in Houston?
I have an Apex Silver Evo X MR here in Houston.
Bought it at Gillman up north. Both Gillman dealerships had a few MRs and quite a few GSRs. I bought it at the north dealership because they had an MR without aero kit, which is what I wanted. All of the MRs at Gillman south had the aero kit.
I was pretty pleased with my experience. Didn't have much problem negotiating a good deal, either. It's a very slow time for car sales. I didn't see a single MR sell at either dealership in the two months that I was making my decision.

I bought mine at gillman south (i think it's what it is - gillman on 59 by beltway 8?). Got it fully loaded except for aero kit for about 33500 out the door. Don't let them hassle you on the price, negotiate it and they'll bring it down to invoice. As an overall buying experience, it was pretty negative. The salesmen clearly did not know a damn thing about the car and were just trying to sell it, the service manager is an ahole, and so is the general manager. They'll give you a good price but expect to get treated badly. And like the poster above me said, my experience after the purchase has been even worse as well.

Also bought mine at Gillman south. Overall I think it was an ok experience, much better than my 1st try at Champion Mitsu (worst ever
). They gave me an ok price...probably not as good as you guys, but considering it was my 1st "brand new" car it was ok. BTW what area of Houston are you guys at????
U of H. Champion mitsu did suck, wasted 3 days dealing with them cause they just kept delaying and giving me a run around. Any of you guys know any good shops around here that do good work on evos/sti's? Need a place to go to instead of the dealership, im sick of dealing with their crap and ridiculous prices.

The salespeople at champion were friendly and manageable, and they gave me a good price. The manager seemed shady though, and kept saying he would get me a PB evo from gillman south. Waited for about 3 days till i finally insisted on him telling me wtf was going on, and he told me he wasn't able to obtain the car. This was after him making me spend 3 days of my time, and then having to sit around for 5 hours because he went to go 'get some paper' to print some 'numbers out' during our meeting. This is just my experience, but just watch out for the shady manager there. The salespeople were cool, however.
Honestly, if you can't get a fully loaded GSR for under 35k from the dealerships around here you aren't trying hard enough. Don't settle for anything less, every dealership i went to (champion, baytown, gillman, Hub) was willing to negotiate and gave me some very good offers, but it was gillman south that had the exact car i wanted for the exact price i wanted.

My friend got his Phatom black for 32,700 from Gillman Southwest. But overall, my firm believe that Gillman sales sucks in general. If you think Mitsubishi sales suck, go try next door Subaru. I walked in and no one bother to me. Guess they don't think I am a potiental buyer.
What happened? I just went there yesterday to test drive a GSR. I'd be interested to here your comments.
I went there immediately after my test drive with the Evo. Dealership seemed reasonable although I do think Gillman is not the best at satisfaction.
Took the car into service a month or two back with the following issues:
Driver side tweeter rattling
Passenger seat rattling
Hiccups over 5K RPM
Paint peeling from bumper
2nd & 3rd gear grind
They kept the car 4 days! Couldn't 'reproduce' any of my issues but did repaint the bumper. Bumper wasn't put back on properly (bulges on driver side) and it still isn't fixed. They also charged me $170 for a rental car that was supposed to have been refunded already, but still hasn't. Bunch of crooks. I don't know what to do with the bumper because I really don't want to take it back there.
[edit] I should point out my sales guy (Ohanis) was cool. They didn't have the car I wanted on site and had to get it from another dealership so they gave me a new Lancer to drive until it arrived. He also gave me a new Galant to drive while they tinted the car. The ***** were the sales manager (no longer there) and the finance guy. The service manager is a crook too. If you do decide to buy from there then ask for Ohanis and tell him David Crotty (his first Evo sale) sent you and just never, ever, go there for service.

man thats the main reason i havnt gone back to fix my hoodlatch. Cause i'm pretty sure they will *** something up. the initial visit they sprayed wd40 everywhere and left grease all over my panels and doors.
i also get the passenger door side rattling, but i can fix that myself.

I spoke with Ohanis when I was there. He was nice to deal with.
The service is something to consider because maybe like most of us I'm a busy and lack luxury of time (or the patience) to wait for my car to be serviced nor do I have the tolerance for games.
Anyone heard any comments about HUB off I-10?
Thanks UFO for your reply.
