Another just got my X thread... w/ pics!

So just like everyone else, I am very excited about my X. This is my first evo, after a long list of Nissans and Toyotas. The evo is my DD replacing an '05 350z, and I have a 300zx TT I drive on weekends (or will once I get very used to the X ). I have had the car for a week with about 400 miles on it and still smile everytime I get in the car like it was the frist day.
There are though, a few things that I am concerned with. First thing was I noticed some very fine scratches on the pas. side 1/4 panel. Almost not enough to notice but kinda sucks since the cars new and I know I havent hit anything. I just wished I had checked before I left the lot. Nothing I can really do about it now.
The next thing is when using the AUX port, there is a pretty loud whine coming from the speakers, some sort of interference. Is there a way to prevent this or should I just not use my ipod? The last and must unsettling thing is, when my car is either cold or warm, and with or without the ac, the idle can be very hesitant. It'll drop as low as 500 rpm and then bounce back up. I know why this can happen with mod'd cars but whats up it on the evo? I read about factory reflashes, and just assumed my car would be up-to-date since I got it last week. I dont really want to drive back to the dealer I got it at. Can I have the reflash done anywhere and is that the solution? Thanks, and I look forward to being a member of these boards.

BTW, its a PBP Gsr with the SSS

We had the same noise issue with the AUX port on our 2007 Outlander. The RCA connections aren't grounded properly. Take it back to the dealer and they should be able to fix it.

BTW: Congrats on the car. I can't wait to get mine.

Looks good. I wish I could sell my car, then I'd have a post similar to this one "Just purchased my X!" thread.

I had a door ding that I missed when i first bought my evo 8 from the dealer. Next day i went back and told them and they did the paintless ding removal.. so see what the dealer can do for you... i mean you just spent 30k+..

Great car. Got one just like it in the driveway! I just started using my ipod and noticed that same thing. It only happens when I plug the charger in. I have a cable from radioshack going to the red and white and a seperate cable to charge the ipod. With the charger plugged in I get lots of distortion but without it the sound is fine. Try playing with that first and see if anything helps.
I know what you mean about the rpms. in the morning when i first start my car its usually at 1.5 rpm but when idling at a stop or somewhere it will go as low as .5. Ive had the car for a few months now and havent stalled yet so im not worried about it. if i ever have to go to the dealer for something i will mention it but im in no rush to check it out.
Enjoy the car!!

Congrats on the car and the color. To answer your question about the flash, yes you can have it done anywhere. I bought mine in NJ and there's no way I'm going back to those *** hats, I called my local dealer and they said no problem. As far as the idle issue the reflash should take care of it, but I have yet to get mine so we'll see.

Nice Pickup. That's one of my favorite colors on the Evolution X.
