I too have experienced this, but only after installing a blitz filter kit.
I think it could be due to the cone filter sucking hot air from the engine bay when the car is stationary? Before the install idle was fine.

Well I got the car back and they said they could not recreate the problem and to keep an eye on it...I am guessing that it must have been my agency intake. I am not sure if I should put it back on or sell it and get a different one?

Nope. Just kinda hesitates till the boost drops to about 20 lbs and then takes off. I want to try a different gauge also and see if its not just the gauge.

Did you find a way to fix the idle after the install?

I to have the same thing and I think it is nothing to worry about. When you stop at a light all that heat generated by the engine is not exiting from the engine bay very well and the intake air heats up causing the MAF to adjust accordingly but fluctuating because the air is also fluctuating. If I am correct, this will go completely away when it gets cold. In addition, if you continue to idle you will notice the rev's will settle in once the engine bay's air begins to stabilize.

Later, Ken

Exactly the same behavior as my car mate! I also believe its the heat in the engine bay, i think its worse for me cos the blitz element is made of stainless steel hence even more heat soak.

As an addendum to my earlier post, changing the intake from OEM to an aftermarket piece eliminates the air insulation of the relatively closed OEM "box" thereby allowing the variable heat within the engine bay to influence the MAF. Bottom line: If you cannot live with the idle fluctuations of most aftermarket intakes [some e.g., ARC do offer air insullation by their design], then go back to the OEM "box"; otherwise accept it with the understanding of its cause.

Sounds like everyone having this problem has changed their intake pipe. Most intakes out for the Evo X changed the pipe to a 3 inch diameter which in turn increases air volume. Also some aftermarket intakes move the MAF sensor placement.

What does this mean? Your stock tune or aftermarket tune is based on the stock air intake volume. So your MAF sensor freaks out because of the change. All you have to do is get a tune this will fix the idle issue.

If you had a tune and suddenly your idle goes crazy. Here are comon problems bad MAF sensor or Vacuum leak. Hope this helps.

This is a result of your fan turning on and off, you need to get some kind of shield to keep that air from blowing into your intake.

My bone stock Evo X suffers from a slight rough idle every once and awhile too, most times when I stop, clutch pushed in.The tach will drop almost to where it's going to stall, tach bounces up/down staying under 750rpm then corrects itself.
Reminds me of the ram air 4 cam in my old GTO Probably a overly rich condition,ECU than makes corrections to stablize.
