Idle Problem

Does anyone have the Idle of the car go crazy when its at a light. It will bounce between 500 and 1000 and my AF Gauge goes off the charts on the lean side. Then I give it some gas and it evens out. Anybody got any ideas what it could be.

I believe this is a common problem with the Evo X's. I hear the second ECU reflash from the dealer should fix it. I am going to get it done today.

I have an agency intake with suction pipe and my idle is crazy at the light but I don't know if it is the intake or a stock problem

Dude I would check the vacuum hoses specially with you having the check engine light on. LOL... I think I'm going to do the same. The problem started after the intake and boost controller got installed. Maybe I left something loose or something popped like gunzo said.

Thanks

I have experienced this on three occations. I reved the throttle a little and it settled right down. I am not sure what caused this. It is infrequent. And I have already had a factor reflash from my dealership.

noob suggestion but does this happen without A/C on?
The revs fluctuate a bit as the fans switch on and off on the a/c condenser

I have an AMS intake and multiple other things done. Its always Idled great.

But after a really bad thrashing at Motor Sports Ranch the other day its idle has started loping after it warms up. I have checked every vacum line and cant seem to catch it.

I've been looking at the boost gauge to see if I can see the vacuum brop but everything seems ok .

I'll check if it olny does it with the AC on. There is a possibility that the AC can be causing it. But if it is the AC what can be done about it.

Mine happens with or without the AC. Also noticed that it started happening with the AP intake also. All the vacumm lines are nice and secure and the only odd thing is on stock boost I sometimes overboost to about 25psi. Haven't quite figured that one out yet. I'm probably going to get the ATP intake and trash this AP one.

When you over boost does your computer do the service required and the car only goes up to 3000 RPM.

Exclamation

ok.. seriously I am so ticked. I was driving today and stopped at a light. My idle jumped to 4000 before dropping down to 3000 and steady. Naturally I freaked out and being a girl had the reflex to turn it off but I didn't and I got to the gas station and checked hoses. Everything looked fine. Turned around went home, took of my intake for the stock one (to avoid warrenty issues) and it still was all over the place so I took it straight to the dealer and that is where it is right now. No word yet but I think this must be a major problem.
