Was wondering how many mpg left after gas light comes on? I knew on my older Evos where i would actually run out of gas but not on the X..Anyone run out of gas yet?

 

ive gone 30- 40 miles and was fine

i prob get slightly better MPG since i have a lancer, but i think there are about 2 gallons on reserve once the light goes on

 

Well my Evo is now tuned so the mpg is ALOT better than stock But i still dont wana take any chances and run out of gas

i wish with all this electronic software, it would at least give an estimated mileage left like other cars that have this feature

 

yea i fill up when the gas light comes on and it only takes like 11 or 12 gallons. and its a 14.5 gallon tank. so do the math... 14.5 - 12 = a lot more miles left til you gotta call Triple A

 

I wish I got those numbers as you guys. After my light, It takes me about 4 plus miles before the car starts to bogg.

 

Are we talking the initial warning or the obnoxious yellow screen of death? I've done 40-50 miles from the time the inital warning comes on and had .5-1 gallon left in the tank.

 

And remember there is 2 stages of this. When you light comes on you still have one bar left. Then when that last bar runs out i would have to see you need to refill lol.

 

I think it's standard that most cars can go at least 25 miles from the point the light comes on. As stated above, the yellow screen of death is another thing, thats like the last warning so I wouldn't go more than a couple of miles at that point.

 

If you scroll through the information screen by pressing the "info" button then there should be one that tells you how many miles you have till empty.

This is true but remember that you need a certain amount of fuel to fill your lines and fuel rail.

 

No that is set to read 0 or "no data" already once the light comes on. I think mine just shows - - once the light is on.

 

Gas is cheap now Miguel why are you riding on E? lol

 

^^ true, gas is getting hella cheap! I just filled up for $1.91 per gallon (regular)

 

Ohh ok, my bad. I usually dont run my car that low on gas anyways.
