I don't launch, I comply to the transmission rather than forcing gears, rarely go to redline, give the car some breathing time between hard acceleration. You get the idea.

well its going to probably be more close to 2 years but i might not sell it.

i need to get another truck b/c i have property in oswego New York and i dont want to drive my car up there all the time from Florida (tires are too expensive and when it snows i dont want to take any chances) so im going to get a 4 wheel drive again to use for that.

also i have a boat that i cant tow anymore, and a full grown German Shepherd that doesnt fit in the car very well lol

I've got to be honest - I will most likely do something similar
I've never owned a car for more than 3 years...

~5,000 miles, purchased in July, stock.

-shifting 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd is much smoother
-shift knob came unglued during cold weather
-CEL once at the 1,000 mile mark, code p1320. dealership cleared, never came back.

some issues, but im not going to let it bother me, i still love the car. this is my DD, 95% of the time i take it easy...there isn't a place to really open up the car where i live.

rolled 10k on the way to the track two weekends ago.

Let's see here:
- stock tires lasted 6500 miles
- 4 oil changes so far
- lots of gas

Outstanding issues:
- couple of rattles
- cloth pulling away on the seats around the carbon "fiber" inserts
- notchy shifting when granny shifting
- running SUPER rich

Wow. This car is a horrible POS.

I'll likely keep it another 3 years or so (4 years is the longest I keep a car). I have no idea what I'll replace it with. This has been my most favorite car yet. And everytime I drive it I love it more.

1130 miles. Kept my last car for 10 years and I might keep this one that long too as long as I'm still enjoying it.

I launch occasionally, go to the canyons as often as possible, full throttle it around every corner, drive fast on the freeway, it just loves to be driven. And no, I do not have any tickets.

My clutch feels fantastic, brakes are amazing, tires are shredded (f'in canyon runs) and I am as happy as the day I bought it.

Just be happy for what you got peoples, geez.
^+1. I feel the exact same way. While it's true that the car isn 't bulletproof, it's damn tough and pretty well built IMO. Sure, it's got a cheap interior, but mitsu spends money on the stuff that matters. As someone else mentioned, the clutch is too soft, but it's either that or the transfer case that's gonna go from repeated hard launches. People need to drive the car how it was intended to be driven, i.e. road racing, not drag racing. Launching an AWD car is extremely hard on the drivetrain and there's no two ways about. People need to learn how to drive these cars and take responsibility when they burn the clutch up from drag racing and not blame it on mitsu.
