I'm picking up my car today. Does this flash upgrade effect the MR? And is there anyway to tell what revision that I'm currently on?

Thanks

+1 on the custom tune. I had the factory re-flash and it may improve the bouncy Idle, but other than that you wont see much improvement.
You need to take it to a tuner, its like a different car after that.

Yes it does if your car was made before I believe April 2008, and the dealership should be able to tell.

I've yet to get a tune, but if you look at the dyno graphs you'll gain a bunch up high. Even the factory reflashes help, so hope is not lost.

I hear you. The Mugen Si was a quick car, not a fast car, which the Evo X is. Before I got the Evo I was planning on getting a reflash or something, just wasnt sure which one. I mean, so many people make AMS sound like the US version of Jun Auto. Hell, maybe they are. I just want to find a tune that gives me power up high, but will give me the same or better mpg that I have now. I cant really complain. The X is not as bad I thought with MPG when driven normally, meaning not pushing it hard all the time. The X is my DD and family car, so I drive normally with the family, but more aggressive when Im alone. And it just happens that I live in a curvy mountain little town.
Im planning to also get an S2000 by the end of the year, since it appears that this will be the last year of production and the replacement was canned by Honda. I know which is faster, but I wonder which one I would enjoy driving more. The X or the S2K?

I heard the handling of S2k and Evo X is very comparable, in that sense, its quiet the compliment to the Evo X
